It was alright but I didn't care for the white privilege narrative they had to push for a moment in the movie. Not everything needs to have a cause or a narrative in it, especially with these 2 which we all watched for fun.

I didn't think that it was pushing a narrative at all, more that it was just an excuse to use a current topic as a premise for hilarity. I think it kinda mocked both perspectives, TBH.

I disagree though I tried to see it your way when I was watching it. I don't believe it was necessary and not exactly sure what their intent for mocking it was. If the writers were playing both sides of the fence having the characters mock it both ways, seems irrelevant to even bring it up and unnecessary for a cartoon.

Especially when the beginning of the movie focused on the 'troubled youth' aspect of them as to why were sentenced to 'Space Camp' early on. Having been arrested for blowing up the gym at the science fair at the beginning and later saying they can't be held accountable for being white is inconsistent to say the least.

There most definitely was a reason it was written into the script and felt this topic wasn't as significant to real 'current topics' today. In a society that likes to push an agenda in the most subtle ways, it is easy to see it from either perspective. Like I said, I never watched these 2 for these reasons like that growing up. Their perverted sense of humor is what draws me in.

Tell me you're a liberal without telling me you're a liberal...

It was hilarious because there is no such thing as white privilege. I know just as many poor white people. I'm a white dude. We aren't just given **** because we are white.
I've never voted a dem in my life and yes, there isn't white privilege. Which is exactly why I question bringing up a subtle racial undertone in a animated movie for something that doesn't exist. If it was a 1 time thing, no issue but it's pushed in everything these days. Beavis And Butt-Head was the last place I expected it in.

I do believe this is called satire.

This is the way I took it. Mocked the college for teaching it and mocked those who get upset when they hear the term.

I found it to be well done parody.

Did you guys actually manage to turn a thread about a Beavis and Butthead movie into a political debate? A civil war has to be coming, the people in this country are too stupid, sensitive, and tribalistic to maintain a republic.

Anyhoo...movie was mediocre. Nothing to do with any political narrative, the plot was weak overall and just not very funny. Probably laughed about 2-3 times in total. It was silly and not in the good way like the show used to be.

Let it go. It's been over a week and this is how you all spent your 4th of July on this board. I get what you all are saying but it's not going to change my stance so drop it

Who is "you all?" I don't know or associate with any of the other posters in this thread, I just know not to get even the slightest bit triggered by a cartoon intentionally designed to be idiotic.

And I didn't even know this thread existed until today, July 6th. Literally couldn't care less about changing your mind as I realize that's a feckless venture. If you want something "dropped" or no longer discussed, don't type it out on the internet, the primary place people go to discuss and debate things with strangers.

Buh-bye.

The post wasn't just directed at you, hence 'you all'. but decided to keep it going. Funny this is the point in which you entered the thread though.

Professor: [after listening to their crude comments] Uh huh, why don't we start by telling us what you two thought of the reading assignment for today?

Butt-Head: Uh, we don't really read stuff

Professor: Of course not, because you don't need to, because daddy's connections got you into college and will get you a job on wall street

Butt-Head: [intrigued] Uh, wait a minute, do you know who my dad is?

Professor: I'm sure he's powerful and can have me fired, but I don't care

Butt-Head: Woah, cool my dad has power!

Beavis: [laughs] That's cool cuz Butthead's mom said he died from syphilus! Wow!
