Today's win puts the total at 90-18-7. Is there any other school in the history of CFB that has lost to a single team 90 times? Either way, it's a rather remarkable statistic that I'm sure the Pokes would rather not be on the wrong end of.

EDIT: KSU has lost to Nebraska 91 times so I guess the Pokes are off the hook.

I remember too, that OU & OSU carry different records of the series total. OSU acknowledges one less loss.

OU beat them around 25 in 1972, the year when the NCAA made OU forfeit all of the wins, where Kerry Jackson took snaps. No other school claimed that win, but OSU did. So they think they've only lost 89.

That personifies the "big brother" envy that I see and hear so often. Lame. I really wish they would move to another conference. I think many of them do too.

Just remember that OSU has won a more recent Big XII Championship than Texas, or any other conference team besides OU, Baylor, TCU or KState.

Let's put it another way (and this is an easy problem I ask to my HS math students which I now pose to the board), if OSU were to win two of three indefinitely against the Sooners, how long would it take for them to even the series?

Hey R, it’s XII still and the steers won the Gold Hat in 18/OU took it away in the big game but you just know they claim their ‘half championship’ and so forth

90 + x = 18 + 2x
0 = x - 72
x = 72

72x3 = 216 games

Considering the fact that OSU has never even won three in a row against the Sooners. My great-grandchildren would be pushing up daisies by then.

Not "rivals".
To me, rivalries are OU/TX, OU/NEB, MICH/tOSU. You know, games where either team has the ability to win more than 20% of the time.

You got a point there. I grew up in the cold war years facing Tom Osbourne and the huskers in the 70's and 80's. Frick the horns, they're stinkin up the place, and they're future doesn' t look to sunny. Bring back the huskers imo. Horn's ain't gonna be relevent again for a long while. 😁

Corrected. Thanks for the heads up.

I spent some time with my girlfriend's family this weekend, and posted a lot on my phone. My thumbs can be very erratic.

But, even though the horns are stinkin' it up, because the game is a true rivalry, they manage to be able to win more than once every 10 years. Unlike the reindeer humpers.

The Cornstinkers aren't exactly winning games anymore. They're stinking up the place for than the whorns are.

Since I live in Nebraska, I will be rooting for Iowa.

I watched the Cornstinkers game against Illinois. Nebraska is really really bad.

Yeah, they are. Kind of stinks too, since they’re our big OOC game next year. It’d be nice to have a big non-conference feather on our resume’ if it comes to that.

Other than the media talking about us beating a Big Ten team, the feather will be very small after we kick the crap out of the Cornstinkers next year. Their fans in my area of Nebraska never even talk about their games anymore.

Poor folks, Pederson ruined the program. Dang shame.

Pederson started the downfall. In my opinion Nebraska hasn't ever really done a search for a head football coach. Two of their last three hires they went after a coach that had a hot name at that time. Bo Pelini when he was the defensive coordinator at LSU and then Frost after two years as head coach at Central Florida. I told some of my co workers today that what they are going through as fans is similar to what I went through during the Blake years.

Nebraska football is the poster boy for the old saying "Don't bite your nose to spite your face"....which it did after the 2010 season, while losing to Oklahoma in the Big12 Championship Game 23-20.
Since 2017, Nebraska has a 14-26 record heading into its game at Iowa on Friday. Scott Frost may have a short stay in Lincoln.

I also remember being at the spring football coaches clinic at Nebraska in the spring of 98. First year that Solich was head coach. One of my former players was a red shirt sophomore offensive lineman on that team. One of the high school coaches sitting with me at practice told me that day that Nebraska would never ever go through the problems that Oklahoma were going through at that time. Fast forward 22 years and Nebraska is now going through their Blake years.
