As someone posted earlier, the match was not close but there was more action in the first 6 matches than 2-3 full matches. Some great scrambling by wrestlers on both teams but we wrestled like pitbulls today and would not be denied. Blaylock hasn't received mention yet but what a great job in his first match. He was disciplined in his approach and smart with his shots even though Jeffries has more athletic ability. I bashed Marstellar last week for not wrestling the Cowboy way and I will eat my crow tonight as he showed up and kept the pressure on during the third period. Bean, what a warrior, not smart all of the time but you can not fault his effort.
Great win by the Pokes. If they approach Nationals with the same intensity, we have a shot to win it all. Now I will wait for Micco's explanation of the score! I'm betting 1- the Ref, 2- we must have cheated, or 3- sooners never won a match when Jack Spates is in the house. Just kidding with you, Micco!

If my memory is on track I counted 2 takedowns for OU today both by Johnson their 197 pounder. I can not ever remember a match versus what is supposedly a top 10 opponent where only 1 wrestler had a take down.

I think the only other non escape point was the reverse any 125. Certainly different performance than last week.

Schafer is so close, I don't understand why he doesn't hook his legs underneath the wrestler while on top. He's just burning all his energy hanging on and throwing them back to the mat. In his match he had a perfect chance to throw Johnson to his back and had the hold but just let go and gave in

Schafer wrestles just like Rosholt did.... stands straight up and begs for someone to get a leg. No level changes on offense, frustrating....
