And that's the primary problem with bowl season. Non-CFP teams are less enthused about bowls because the system has just been so watered down to the point irrelevance. Your team is just one of 83 other teams playing 42 different games.

You should not have more than 15 bowl games. Make it harder to get one and teams will naturally appreciate them more.

The same could be said about Mens BB. We can't seem to break into the top 70 BB programs in the country.

Well, there are 361 D1 basketball teams. There are only 136 FBS football teams. Being top 70 in BB is equivalent to being top 25 in football. FCS football has 129 teams and 24 of them go to their playoff, about 18%. They have no bowl games so if you don't make the playoff, your season is over.

March Madness represents about 18% of D1 basketball teams. 18% of 136 football teams is 25 teams. There really shouldn't be more than about 30 teams playing in any sort of post season football, bowls and playoff. A 6 team playoff and 12 bowl games would be plenty. Bowls would really mean something then.

One of those is SC State who finished 9-3 with a seven game winning streak. That's probably the best team we beat.

They are the only bowl eligible team we beat.

Another gamecock point of pride!
