You just described 98% of the teams out there. I guess what I mean is that year-after-year there are only a handful of teams with a "legit" shot at a national title. In football it is Alabama/Georgia. Look at LSU and Florida. What you described is basically them as well (in football).Typical WVU season goes like this… play a few good games against top 30ish competition, climb polls, get optimistic, get blown out in a “showcase” game against a top 10ish team, never recover.
Where do you get those numbers, link? That is less than a third of the seats and still a good decline in season tickets from pre covid years. By the end of the year, the season ticket holders may be the only ones showing up based on what we saw last season, if they are still showing up. The fact is that no one has ever seen fan optimism this low on social media ever, and WVU football hasnt been this bad since the 70's or maybe ever, so none of us really know how it will play out. We will see what happens....WVU hit 20,000 season tickets a month ago..probably the Pitt game lure

WVU fans will always want the backyard brawl for sure. It would go a long way to sell tickets to other games if we can actually win it this year. The way it looks now, WVU football could lose tens of millions by the end of the season.call the ticket office and speak to Zach..these sections are sold out..98,99,100,105,106,108,109,110,121,122,123,124,125,126,127,129,201,205,206,207,208,209,210,211..the general public won't be getting a Pitt single ticket
Great postYes, being a WVU fan is tough. It has ever since I started understand sports in the early 70's and it will be until I die. Personally, it makes the great years even that much more enjoyable knowing our school and state has to work harder for success than some other programs and their spoiled fans.
I know I am in the minority with my attitude. Most that post on here have unrealistic expectations and kneejerk opinions 99% of the time. They are not of any importance to me.
You know all about the first one right?Being a Mountaineer fan is easy. The two options going into most seasons are either
1) Sucking hard all season.
2) Exceeding expectations early to inevitably **** the bed at the worst possible time later.
WVU has sold out 27 sections some are larger than others but will average around 1200 fans.. 33,000 or so sold so far..the record is 38 in 2007WVU fans will always want the backyard brawl for sure.
