Well the players would get new clothes out of the deal... Not a fan of Charlotte but I'm still in the happy to be bowling state of mind.

I think it will be that one or music city. But I think right now everything is trending towards Nashville.

@KySportsRadio: Hearing some information that suggests to me people should not book Non-Refundable hotel rooms in Nashville for the Music City Bowl

Well, Belk bowl it is.

@KySportsRadio: Hmmmmmm RT @belkbowl: Well, hello @UKFootball... https://t.co/djRZlA8IwM

I don't know if KSR actually heard something or they're just repeating what they read on SB Nation who also has KY going to the Belk Bowl. Just like I don't know if Larry Vaught actually heard something about UK going to the Music City Bowl or he was just repeating what he read on CBS who has UK going to Nashville playing Iowa. Who knows, but SB Nation also has Louisville going to the Orange Bowl which means they consider UK's win over UL to be meaningless in the bowl picture. All things considered (TN's loss to Vandy, UK's win over UL etc.) I would think a fairer question would be, can UK sneak past TN into the Taxslayer/Gator Bowl rather than be moved down to the Belk Bowl?

I spent some time looking at conference standings and it seems to me that Iowa deserves a better bowl than the MCB which moves them up to the Holiday Bowl in San Diego. That would leave UK most likely playing either Minnesota, North Carolina or Pittsburgh. You've got to think that the MCB people wouldn't be too hyped for MN and would push for NC (geographic reasons) or Pittsburgh (great storyline with Stoops ans Narduzzi having played for cross town rivals in Youngstown).

My hope is that UK is rewarded for beating a #11 ACC team and TN is punished for losing to Vandy and UK gets the Gator Bowl.

My guess is that UK plays in Nashville against Pittsburgh.

Again, who knows, but after five years of sitting on the sidelines, isn't it fun to have something to talk about concerning bowl games?

I agree. I'm just trying to figure out which it is, so I can then figure if I can go or not.

Isn't the payout for the Belk about a million less than MCB? You would think that would be our first choice just for financial reasons alone. Then again maybe the MCB wants TN or Vandy? Maybe Belk is the best invite we got?

I don't think Vandy would bring what UK would. Plus Vandy fans aren't getting hotel rooms and partying before and after on the town.

One problem I see is that the Belk Bowl might not even exist after this. I haven't really been following the political stuff in NC though.

I would think that the Music City Bowl would be clamoring to get UK. That means a guaranteed 30-40K Kentucky fans coming to Nashville for the game, not to mention all the money for reataurants, bars, and hotels. Millions of Big Blue bucks for the Nashville area.

I don't think the payout really matters so long as the SEC fills all their bowls because, if I'm not mistaken, SEC teams split all that money evenly.....or close to it.

Find out sunday but they often leak throughout the week.

Booked a room in Charlotte. Belk would be exciting. MCB would be great but not against Minnesota or Pitt IMO. Belk vs UNC would be really cool.

The choice is not UK's, it is the Bowls themselves. MB can and will lobby certain Bowls, but the Bowls and the SEC decide each schools lot,
The Belk bowl in Charlotte is a very reachable destination for many UK fans, especially east of I-75. Agree with some who post the MCB is kind of ' Been there, done that ' being in it 4 times, '99, '06, '07, and'09 already.
But would be A OK with the Nashville Bowl, a good spot as well.
