There's another 100 movies/franchises that need work than putting out the 5th batman movie in a little over a decade.

I think we'll see Wonder Woman and Justice League and maybe Aquaman and that'll be it for the DCEU.

Then in a couple of years, they'll make a more Batman-centric world from scratch is my guess.

Personally, I'd like to see someone like Netflix develop a Batman show (a la Daredevil) that allows you to dig deep into the pool of characters and focuses on Batman as a detective.

How about Hollywood get creative and stop putting out the same regurgitated **** over and over. Come up with something original. Even my generation came up with the ninja turtles, power rangers etc.

New material is needed.

Because if you're going to spend $200M to make a film, it makes sense to develop one with an established fan base.

It's certainly possible to hit it big at the box office with original content these days (Avatar, Inception), but it's riskier and studios don't want to make big budget movies without a built in audience to make their money back.

I'd like to see more new stuff too, but I get why that is with films like John Carter and Jupiter Ascending being huge losses.

Honestly, that script Affleck turned down HAD to be absolute feces.

All the comic book movies are terrible. I'm glad they've finally jumped the shark.

I was hoping Gotham was going to be like that. But nah we get Batman villains but no Batman and a whole lot of batshit crazy.

DC has no one but themselves to blame. About the time the Dark Knight Trilogy was wrapping up was when they realized they had missed the boat with crossovers and team up movies. They saw the coin that Marvel was making and they wanted a piece of that action.

They had a decent Superman movie to build the DCU off of and instead rushed to a team up in Dawn of Justice which was just a **** show. Then missed the mark with Suicide Squad. I am not sure that this cycle can be saved honestly. Unless Justice League and Wonder Woman are really good, they just need to shelve the other films and try again in a couple of years.

I don't think I've watched a Batman movie since Michael Keaton & Nicholson made one. The only Ben Affleck movie I've ever seen is Pearl Harbor. Sounds like I'm not missing much.

Really? The Nolan Batman series were awesome.

Alos, Affleck was great in The Town and Gone Girl was pretty good. But his work as a director has been top notch- Gone Baby Gone, The Town and Argo.

But yeah, that Dawn of Justice movie was terrible. Jesse Eisenberg made that boring film even worse.

The problem with DC is, is that they really lack the depth in interestinf superheroes. They have great villains but outside of Batman and Superman (I don't even like Superman), they really have nothing on Marvel.
