Sorry but that "issue" is just not true (as is the case with most of DOGE). Over the course of my career, I've been at a handful of research-intensive institutions of higher ed and this 40-60 breakdown just isn't true.

Actually, it is true, at PSU and at most institutions where research funding is coming primarily from the Fed Govt agencies.
(Roughly - most contracts are a bit under 40%, more like high 30's. PSU also has a fairly unique situation wrt ARL-based research funds - which are treated separately.)

Exactly. It's called accrual accounting. Pledge $50M, but pay it off over 20 years and the U still accounts for all of it in year one. And doesn't dock itself the time value of the money or the cost of the bonds to cover the money they don't get for years. We'll know the actual number next year when the NCAA report goes in. And next year at this time they won't hype the massive drop in fundraising due to this accounting.

She has no business running Walmart let alone a major university. What has she done in three yrs? My god campus looks like DC this summer with the county bird being a construction crane! But we need your money… Their business plan and strategy is not sustainable. Bloat is a compliment.
