Sounds like he played both running back and wide receiver the last few years. 807 yards for his career and could have two years of eligibility. Dunno if he's a "big fish" per say but during a rebuild, you're just looking to get solid guys who can contribute and build your foundation for the future.

Was interesting to see in that article that Illinois now has a total of 5 transfers into their program. Eddie Smith, a safety from Alabama (former 4 star, only played in 10 games mostly on special teams), Max Rosenthal, a fullback from Michigan State, Chase Hayden, a running back from ECU (805 yards during his time at ECU and Arkansas), C.J. Hart, an outside linebacker from NC State (52 tackles, 3 sacks, 2 FF in 2 seasons), and then Jafar Armstrong. If nothing else, Bert's being aggressive in the transfer portal.

New coaches really don’t have much of a choice but to be aggressive in the portal now. With the December signing period, most of the HS guys are gone.

Bert also got his best player off the transfer portal. Guy is doing great for them.

You crack me up. The guy has the 76th rated recruiting class and has snatched a couple meh players from the portal. I will never understand the hard on some people have for that slob.
