Best bets for a 2024 5*?

All that's currently missing from our stellar-looking 2024 class is a 5*. As far as I can tell, we are still at least somewhat in the mix for two: KJ Bolden and Mike Matthews. Bpth ATH out of GA. I don't know how seriously we are in the mix. I think Matthews has us in his top 8. Bolden, I think, has us in his top 15. Outside of these 2 are there any others we may be up for? Looking over the uncommitted 5*, Bolden and Matthews are the only ones in our recruiting footprint who seem to be looking at us.

Ah, ok. He's a 4* (#30 overall) on Rivals but 5* (#10 overall) on 247. I was looking at the Rival list. Another DMV kid so fingers crossed.

Kameryn Fountain is a 4* Edge we are also in on, who may also bump to 5*.
Justin Greene and Jordan Thomas are also 4* with 5* potential. I think Thomas was here for the spring game.

Yeah, as noted above, I was looking at Rivals who has Steward as a 4*

As a sidenote, it appears to me that Rivals has really fallen off. I don't really pay any attention to it since the emergence of on3. From what I can tell on3 and 247 are the best.

As others have said, we have a couple of guys that could bump up. I think D Stew is the best bet for a current 5*...and that would be huge.

I haven't really gotten into looking at ON3 much, yet. Just in the habit of checking 247 and Rivals. I do know ON3's rankings are frequently wildly different from the other 2.

Just checked ON3. They have him at 5*. It just gets nit-picky with some of these ratings.

Well, the kid probably is a legit 5* -- but rivals somehow *knows* that he'll ultimately commit to Carolina, so they're preemptively taking that into consideration....hence, 4* on rivals... /s

Unfortunately Bolden is trending to UGA from what I hear and Mathews is maybe the upstaters. Sure hope not. Dumbo has a coach on his staff who coached for a number of years in Gwinnett County and still has strong ties to several h s programs there..
