Any of the small Dairy ------- whatevers in all the small towns in Kentucky usually give you a great burger with slaw and fries.

Big Dipper in Owensboro
Erma's in Owingsville

Whatcha got??
For those in Muhlenberg Co try Jan's outside Central City just before you hit 431 in that small
triangle before heading to Owensboro. The best and a good price!!!! Will not go back to Island as good as they are!

Heading to Siler City NC tomorrow, actually. Thanks.

Home and resting place of Aunt Bea.

Take a peek at her former home on West Elk Street. Don't have the house number, but Google pictures of it.

By the way, AWESOME thread!

Hell most of em probably get their bags of frozen fries from the same company.

I can tell you a burger from Erma's in Owingsville won't be the same from anywhere else, because they are hand-patted. Her fries aren't my favorite, though, because they're too fluffy of a crinkle fry (if that makes any sense) and her onion rings are too chewy for my liking.

My two favorites are where I grew up and where I live now. The Root Beer Stand in Corbin, KY and Dairy Kastle in Louisville, KY. As mentioned before Dairy Kastle does not serve burgers, but they have a killer chili dog. All these places are good though, it's tough to screw up a burger fried on a flat top grill and your favorite soft serve ice cream treat.

Although it might not meet the criteria, Cliffside in Frankfort is awesome. Amazing burgers and shakes.
Parkette in Lexington is good also.

There is one in Louisville that is right across the street from a high school (I can't remember the name of either). They have orange sherbert/vanilla twist cones. They have great burgers as well.

Just over the river in Jeffersonville Indiana, Zestos is really good as well.

Jays in Calhoun, Mclean county. Haydens in West Louisville was sold to some Indians and I haven't been since. Also the Wonder Whip on east 60 in Owensboro. They all serve about the same burger but there good.

I think both Belew's and Dairy Hill are overrated. Both are neat little out the way places but their burgers aren't that great. Plus at Belew's you have wait a friggin hour for your food. Give me Dairyette and the Calvert City Drive-in over those other 2 every day of the week. IMO, of course

Calvert City Drive-In is really good. You can smell the burgers cooking before you pull in. Always a long line to order.
