Probably Anth's house, considering he's an authentic Italian. I bet he can make a mean pie.

Also, R.I.P. Slice of Chicago - you were the GOAT.

I would murder my mother-in-law for a taco pizza and a stuffed crust sausage from Slice of Chicago right now... and not just because she has dementia but also because that pizza was the GOAT.

F*** Naples, Manhattan, etc. SoC was the best it will ever be.

I forgot about the best place in town. It is called Łë. They only sell one pizza. Crust is an artisanal gluten-free blue corn meal base which is prepared 11 days in advance of serving. The sauce is made of truffle oil infused heirloom tomatoes. As for the cheese, it is pure Moroccan climbing goat milk, unpasteurized of course, that is kept in the basement of the Alamo until it ages. The pizza is cooked and served on a turn of the century cast iron platter which has never been cleaned and baked at 1400 Fahrenheit for 7.63 seconds. All patrons are expected to pray to the sun god Ra before eating, and there is a ceremonial bleeding of each customer. It tastes absolutely awful and costs $96 per pie, but the ambience and experience make it completely worthwhile.

1. Goodfella’s - Has to be fresh, but it’s the best.

2. Crust/Bella Forno - Great date spot.

3. Pietana - Anytime you can get Blue Door Brisket or Winchell’s gravy on a pizza, you have to do it.

4. Pies and Pints - Good pizza and great beer selection.

5. Donatos - Yeah, yeah it’s a chain. Still delicious.

Crust is closed now, which absolutely sucks.

It’s murder on the old intestines but still pretty good. The sauce used to have a very distinct taste that’s not the same anymore.
True.

I've told this before but we would go to the crossroads one and get plain cheese with a side of bbq sauce. It was deep red and smoky. Made in house, I think.

Where’s the Sir Pizza love? I can hardly eat it anymore and it’s not as good as it used to be, but back in the day it was fantastic. The Waller location was the best. Maybe it’s just nostalgia.
Sir Pizza is the Waffle House of pizza......only late at night drunk as hell.

This thread goes to show it’s hard to eff up pizza. You have to really try to make crappy pizza. Decent ingredients and minimal effort will get a decent pie.

Standing out as a pizza maker takes some serious pizza making abilities.
For a guy pizza is like sex. Even when it's bad it's still pretty good.

Agreed, back in the day it was awesome; the past couple of times I bought one there they were terrible. Won't be back for sure.
