I probably eat Jimmy Johns more than the rest because they deliver really quick and they have good jalapeno chips. But their 'cuban sandwich' is an abomination. If I were Cuban I'd sue for defamation.
Couldn't agree more. I ordered one from them a few months ago and it was flat out awful. Never had a sandwich like that from them. It literally changed my opinion of them entirely thats how bad it was. Bootlegger and Italian night club are my go to there.

Quiznos were good at the beginning. The franchisees had to buy their ingredients exclusively from the company but the company jacked up the prices so high that the stores could not compete. There are very few of them left. Good subs but a lousy business model.

We used to have one in Kingsport. Had my share of sammidges there.

Of the one's I've been to, I would rank it as below

1. Jersey Mikes
2. McAlister's Deli
3. Subway

Only been to once so not enough data to determine, but clearly better than Subway:
Jason's Deli
Quizno's

Forgot about McAlister's. There's one back in Kingsport. Good sammidges and the baked taters are awesome.

At least two more foodie destinations receiving a visit upon my return home come April:

- Penn Station in Somerset or London. Must try an artichoke sub.
- Rax in Harlan.

#PaddockPowerOfSuggestion.

Heh, right now I've got enough Firehouse Subs bonus points for 3 free medium or two free large subs. Have not grabbed take-out from there since last November. By the way, register on their website for a free birthday sub.

Schlotzsky's: Founded in Austin and now based in Atlanta. Sour dough = pleasant departure, but sandwiches grow boring after a while.

Jason's Deli offered a monster hot pastrami sandwich back in the day. Have not ordered from Jason's since 2009.

Jersey Mike's also offers free birthday sandwiches. I like "Joisey Mikes" for the same reasons as everyone else.

McAlister's: My last visit happened Halloween, 2009 in Waco. Restaurant was filled with Nebraska Cornhusker and Baylor Bears fans pigging out before the football game at old Floyd Casey Stadium. Good food. Potato salad really stood out for some reason.

Jimmy Johns: Hit up downtown Lakeland, FL location in January, 2020 before COVID grew crazy. They always serve decent roast beef or ham sandwiches.

Surprised no Sub Station II mentions. Two stores located in Louisville. Grabbed an Ultimate at the Fern Valley location a few years back. Excellent.

Chow down, y'all.

I've still never been to McAllister. Looks good
But if I went down there then aim next to Bourbon and Toulouse....and well, cmon. No contest.

Newk's is good, just pricey. I still pop over there on occasion. Cosi was fine, at ste th3 Hamburg one once, just seemed like another Panera.

Schlotzsky's is always a must stop whenever we get back to Texas, wife loves them. Another from the Austin area I liked was Delaware Subs and Thunderclouds, salad bar and ice cream were a big draw for us to Jason's.

Yeah I could flip flop Jersey Mike’s and McAllister’s. When I voted I actually went with McAllister’s. I think Jersey Mike’s is slightly better, but their gluten free bread sucks and is pretty expensive compared to the superior taste and price of the McAllister’s GF bread.

Bourbon and Toulouse is one thing I really miss about Lexington. When it first opened I lived in Chevy Chase and ate there 2 or 3 times a week for months. This was also when everything was $5.
