Not that I know of.Wasn't she involved w/ some suspicious death at some point? Maybe I'm misremembering.
Network TV is horrible. I literally haven't watched it in about 20 years. Looking strictly at network TV is like judging restaurants strictly by fast food.
I forgot The Americans.The Wire
Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul
Justified
Deadwood
What? No Peaky Blinders?The Soprano’s
Mad Men
Justified
Game of Thrones
Atlanta
Community
Deadwood
Last of Us
Legion
Fargo
Yup! Add it to the list! No Breaking Bad though - it’s top 20 but has a lot of issues most overlook. What? No Peaky Blinders?
Oddly enough, I am not a fan of Nathan Lane, but I thought he was great in Modern Family.+100 I liked it at the time but am rewatching it now and some of the later episodes I missed and it is just spot on with a lot of things. The episode where Cam and Mitch get married is one of the funniest things I've seen on network tv in a long time. Nathan Lane is hilarious.
I'm curious what the issues are.Yup! Add it to the list! No Breaking Bad though - it’s top 20 but has a lot of issues most overlook.

And have you still not watched The Wire?
The best season of these shows was Justified Season 2. (Mags Bennett.)
The best line? In The Wire when Stringer goes off on the guy for taking notes on a criminal ******* conspiracy.
Al Swearingen’s line in Deadwood (among his many amazing lines) - “As a base of operations, you can’t beat a ******* saloon”The best season of these shows was Justified Season 2. (Mags Bennett.)

Disagree on Walt. His cracks began to show very early - his volatility, his insecurity, his immense ego. He was never a good person - he just never had the money and power to let his real self out.Guilty. But, I’m gonna watch it!
Overall BB is excellent, but I don’t like that it’s essentially two shows. The first - that ends when Frang is killed - was supposed to be the original ending. But, it caught fire by then and they had to figure out a way to shoehorn another year and a half of story and make it make sense. They also conveniently did away with White’s cancer when it became inconvenient to the plot. I’d add that Walter White was a good person - to turn like he did is incredible to the point of disbelief. As is that he became a criminal mastermind. I love the cast, writing, cinematography, etc, but I have zero desire to revisit it like I do with other shows. It also sent us to the Giancarlo Esposito as villain for every show imaginable era (which I’m not complaining much about save the stereotyping - can’t we go School Daze Esposito!?!) which is fine if not Star Wars.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say that Walter was never a good person, check out the flashback scenes with Gretchen and with Skyler. But once he walked away from Grey Matter, well, he got dark.Disagree on Walt. His cracks began to show very early - his volatility, his insecurity, his immense ego. He was never a good person - he just never had the money and power to let his real self out.
Propaganda? The show is as relevant today as ever. Writing was the very best. Topics (peace riots, war/peace, health, computers, infidelity, families turmoil) are still firmly on radar today.I think that it has not aged well. At the time it was unique, but with time people learned to appreciate it for the propaganda it was.

not sure I saw this one listed:I liked the Lousy TV Show thread. So here is my go at the "Best"
TO Star Trek - How was this so good on a budget so small?
The Wild Wild West - Fun from beginning to end. I remember it was on at the same time as TV Quarterbacks, so seeing the reruns was a treat. Michael Dunn was probably the greatest bad guy ever.
TV Quarterbacks - Yes, imagine a time that the greatest coach of all time would spend an hour with fans every Thursday nite in the Fall.
The Prisoner - This show was a summer filler, yet it was so special it demanded more time.
Band of Brothers - We had a huge projection television and I watched this series with my son and 6 of his friends. No noise, just eyes fixed on the screen.
The World at War - No documentary has been better than this. I would not change a thing.
The Twilight Zone (original) - From beginning to end it never disappointed. Even the bad episodes were good.
Sherlock - Perfect casting and great writing. Andrew Scott was so wonderful and evil as Moriarty
Twin Peaks - The first season makes up for the rest.
Trailer Park Boys - How did this not become another Monty Python?
Monty Python - I remember seeing this at 11:00 PM on a Saturday nite on the PBS station in 1971. I could not believe that TV could be this good.
Derry Girls - Yes, I enjoyed a show about teenage girls growing up in 1990s Ireland.
The Queen's Gambit - Good from beginning to end. This surprised me to no end.
Mystery Science Theater 3000 - Maybe the most acquired taste program on this list.
Thst was really good. Kellerman going after Luther Mahoney, that was fierce.not sure I saw this one listed:
Homicide Life on the Streets
We Own this City was also very good. Also had The Wire cast members.not sure I saw this one listed:
Homicide Life on the Streets
+1. The Wire was just amazing when you start to consider that nobody had heard of most of that cast.We Own this City was also very good. Also had The Wire cast members.
back in the day it seemed my wife and I would make at least one pilgrimage to Baltimore, and specifically Fells Point. We were there in the Homocide days and saw some of the guys around. So the Wire was a natural one for us. I loved when Bunk talked about his lacrosse days vs the prep school kids. Seems to me Bunk went to Edmenton (sp?) which I believe was Charlie Pitmans school as well.+1. The Wire was just amazing when you start to consider that nobody had heard of most of that cast.
I had no idea that Idris Elba was British until later on.
A lot of the casting came from within the area.
The Snoop character was so good but she ended up in trouble.
I dont know who I liked more on that show Omar was one of my all time favorite characters and Michael K. Williams was a great actor (RIP)
Wendell Peirce is just really good in everything he does.
But I think my 2 favorite characters and actors on the show were Clark Peters and Andry Royo.
So many just flat out good performances and writing.
It was especially true if you were living in the Balto. area at the time, the mayoral Carcetti characters was not really that fictional cough, cough O'Malley, cough cough. LOL.
some of those Homicide Life on the Street actors stayed after the series, Yaphet Kotto, was one of them although I heard he wasn't especially nice.back in the day it seemed my wife and I would make at least one pilgrimage to Baltimore, and specifically Fells Point. Speaking of Idris Elba, The Office was great (but long before he was on it).+1. The Wire was just amazing when you start to consider that nobody had heard of most of that cast.

I'm about to speak heresy on this board but I was not a big Office Fan, it was ok. I have no idea why Elba was in it.Speaking of Idris Elba, The Office was great (but long before he was on it).
Two and a Half Men when Sheen was in it.I liked the Lousy TV Show thread. So here is my go at the "Best"

I never found Gleason’s constant yelling to be funny in the least. But hey I understand others loved the show. This is an excellent choice. There has never been a better show cast than this one. It dared to show life as it was.
Oh ****, I forgot to put them on my list as well. Great show. What? No Peaky Blinders?
Melfi added very little after the beginning. She almost ruined the show near the endMy (short) list:
The Wire. Just watched it for the 3rd time. Amazing stuff
Breaking Bad - the show I most enjoyed as pure entertainment
Sopranos - the OG prestige show. They overdid the Melfi appointments by the later years, but it holds up
Deadwood - Al Swearengen is my favorite character of all. It was an absolute travesty that HBO cut it short.
Love Slow Horses, looking fwd to another season. Americans was damn good as well, can't even remember how it ended though. Some "newer" shows that I've liked are
The Americans
The Diplomat (OK, I like Keri Russell)
Slow Horses
Veep
Fleabag
After Life
For the Jennings parents, it ended in the only way it could have. For their kids, well, the writers got creative.Love Slow Horses, looking fwd to another season. Americans was damn good as well, can't even remember how it ended though.
The bounced emoji clown.David Jansen
Harry O
O'Hara U.S. Treasury
Both entertaining.
