Hopefully PSU is re-established 2026. Team played tight under BGJ. Drew was talented, but....

The 2025 team obviously was poorly prepared for the season and had holes at d-line and linebacker that were almost impossible to overcome. Also, the ludicrous non-conference schedule did that team no favors because it created a malaise and did not get that team ready for the real games; you could tell in September that something wasn’t right with that team. Then, by losing to a very beatable Oregon team at home, especially in OT, the lack of leadership both from the head coach and players let one loss turn into six.

The whole season, really until Smith stabilized things, was the perfect storm for a disastrous season. Both the head coach, who after the Oregon game didn’t seem like his heart was in it anymore, and a lot of the players, many of whom were being paid a lot of money and who basically went into shut down mode after the Oregon game, were both to blame for what happened. If that team had played the first two months like they did in November and the bowl game, they would’ve won at least nine and probably ten regular season games.

They would have lost against better non conference competition. The lb and dline issues were obvious and most of you ignored it. You had a natty on the brain.

While you were wishing for free sodas had you actually stayed for the entirety of your team’s losses.

wins don't matter, as long as they are getting paid and having a nice time
Don't down play having fun while you are doing it. It works for the wrestling team. And those that have study Norwegian sports training noticed the big difference between Norway and the USA was the Norwegians had fun while they trained. That’s Gold Jerry, pure gold.

Can you imagine if the theme of our wrestling team was have fun, be grateful, and worry about the process more than the results? Probably wouldn't win any national championships. Oops, nevermind...............

Imagine if every team at psu had the most talent and the highest paid staff.

What was the theme of ISU wrestling when cael was the coach?

Were scooter, McHenry, beau Bartlett, Facundo, steen, and Ryder not having fun or did they have less talent?

Franklin ignoring VTs success under Beamer, including appearances in the BCS Championship is an absolute ******* move. He is and always has been only about himself.
He’s not ignoring VT’s success under Beamer. If he wanted to do that, the shirt would say “EST 2026” and not “RE-EST 2026.”

Reestablished since when then? It’s a stupid l, egotistical look either way.

The beatings will continue until morale improves!

Really, that was the issue with Franklin?

Wait a minute, I thought he loved his players too much and overpaid some?

#fannarratives so confusing

Since Beamer only had five seasons in his whole career with less than three losses, I guess you can pick a year.

If you want to know how one note Franklin is he put up the exact same slogans in the VT facilities in the same font that he did at PSU.

Franklin's issue was that he was so uptight in big games and the week that led up to them that he could fart the piccolo obligato from "The Stars and Stripes Forever" by John Philip Sousa and you wouldn't know he wasn't actually playing the piccolo. This carried over to the team and coaching staff and it was reflected in their performance in those games.

I classify the sweatshirt slogan as unnecessary. Kind of like the dominate the state line or great to elite or reacting to the fan in the stands or any subtle jabs at Pitt early on. The more these seemingly minor incidents popped up, the less likable he became.

Is that like the “I don’t want to leave college football to the Jackie Sherrills and Barry Switzers of the world?”

Different circumstances entirely. And, I’m not a Joebot.

Odd that so many players followed him. I guess they don't know him as well as the ex-spurts here.
