It's early, but who wrestles at Big10 meet?
Wondering specifically about 141, 157, 184, 197, and Hwt.

Bailey is the big question mark in my mind. And that has implications for allocations.

Bailey has 15 matches and was ranked 12 in the last coaches' rank, so he hits on two of the three criteria. Petersen only has 14 matches and a .714 win percentage, so he may miss out (depending on if he gets a CR or the cutline goes to 0.710).

Tom doesn't care about an allocation. If they can't get top 8-9 at big 10s they probably won't be scoring much at NCAAs.

Has he said this to you directly or are you reading the tea leaves?

I ask because this seems more like a fan perspective than a coach perspective. I think of coaches as being more strategic and looking for every little bit of edge for every last point and leading by example. It is the "chip and a chair" mentality. If you are in the tournament you still have a chance to win. If you are out of the tournament, you do not.

I also think of Brands as someone who has in mind what is best for each individual wrestler and thereby doing whatever it takes to increase the odds they meet their individual, and team goals.

Yesterday many opens were going on and Voinivich has 12 matches and Williams had 13. And neither went to an open to get 15 matches and an RPI. By not caring I mean they're not gonna run around and change plans to allocate.

Ok, so not something he said.

I wasn't sure because you have mentioned your insider status and that sounded like something you knew from your access.

I think one of those was an oversight and one of those was due to a late wrestle off that was injury related.
Idk that is the story some tried to sell. The injury excuse never made sense to me because pretty sure Schriever wouldn’t have gotten an allocation anyways. They could have entered Teske’s name and if he wasn’t able to go then no harm no foul.

And the oversight thing…. sheesh no comment on that excuse.

There is a legitimate chance a finish outside top 10 of NCAAs is coming.
Not trying to put on rose colored glasses here but out side of the top 10? Kinda seems like literally everything would have to go wrong. illinois got 10th last year with 44.5 points

Based on the coaching rankings, Iowa is projected at ~34 points. Angelo is not on there so even if he wins it all that’s like 18 more points probably.

I mean I guess its possible but i think there would have to be alot of other schools have great tournaments to completely knock us out of the top 10

4. Nebraska 63
5. Ohio State 61 (0 for cannon)
6. Cornell 40
7. NC State 37
8. Iowa 36
9. Illinois 30
10. Lehigh 27
11. VT 25
12. Minnesota 24
13. Michigan 23

Oh I know, I don't either, but there's a number of things that have happened this year that nobody would have expected in November.
True true you would of told me after Oklahoma state dual in November we'd be even having any thoughts of outside the top 10 let alone top 5 I would of said you were crazy!
