Fifty-three percent (15-28) of league games have been decided by 5-or-fewer points, the highest among the A5 leagues and second overall.
The 7.1-point average scoring margin in Big 12 games is the smallest of the conferences and 2.6 points smaller than the closest A5 league.

The fact is the Big 12 doesn't have the extra 5-7 "bottom feeders" that these other over-bloated conferences do that teams can pick up wins with relative ease.
