Members of the Big 12 have unanimously agreed to reinstate a championship game for football, beginning in 2017 -- whether the league expands or not.

I thought it was interesting that he pointed out they were the first team on have a conference championship game with less than 12 teams like it was being creative. Why not mention they were the only P5 team with less than 12 schools and the only one without a championship game.

The Big 12 is attempting to leverage the league the best it can. There are simply no TV markets of any consequence to add. The team's most mentioned for expansion are Houston, Boise State, Brigham Young, Memphis and Cincinnati. Houston is 60% SEC as a TV market. Stay tuned.

I'd be more than happy to send A&M and Mizzou back in exchange for North Carolina and Virginia Tech coming on board :D

I don't know if UNC would be interested or not, but if guessing would say they weren't. VT on the other hand can't unless the state of Virginia changes their legislation. When the ACC was expanded and the Big East was falling apart, VT was going to be left out of ACC expansion, Virginia Legislature passed a law/directive that the 2 schools had to be in the same athletic conference. So Virginia decided it was better to bring VT into the ACC than to join them in the failing, football wise, Big East. So if VT comes, Virginia will be coming with them. It's basically the same with OU and OSU, their state legislature has tied them together in the same conference.

UVA could be a natural rival for Vandy and Ole Miss. VT for UK and UT. Would like to then see UNC and NC State come on board as well. Ditch the big 12 guys, and boom we have our sixteen.

In reality I felt like we were in a good place with 12.

Temple, Tulane, Houston, USF and UCF are available and represent some of the biggest TV markets in the country. Throw in BYU who has a national presence and there are several schools in great TV markets that are available. This move is all about Texas. The Longhorns are keeping the conference week so that it will be easier to get back on top and it doesn't require an extension of the Media Rights agreements so they can jump ship if a better offer comes along.
