Big 12 trending up overall

Several reasons but to name a Few:

-record revenue by conference booked in 2017

-beat postseason record of all conferences over last two years

-Red River will carry national implications again a la 2000’s for next 10-15 years under Herman and Riley

-overall talent level trending back up: OU hasn’t had 3 straight top ten classes since 2002-2004, doing it again here 2017-2019 (2019 already a lock for one). Texas put in a top 5 class for the first time since at least 2013 under Mack. Prob 2000’s. TCU, Baylor, Pokes, and WVU all averaging top 30 classes. Draft picks were well better in 2018 than 2017. Will continue to trend to 25-30 annually for next few years.

-competing in the playoff with OU and now TCU, WVA, Texas, Okie State, K-State all can get there in any given year beside just OU.

More to come.

I'll have whatever you're drinking. I will not live to see any Big 12 team in the playoff other than OU or UT.

We will see.

This year West VA could do it.

TCU got the biggest hose job of the century in 2014 and would have won it all. That team was fully loaded.

OU will trounch WVU it won't even be close. Fact is it's OU and the 9 dwarfs. None show
enough on one side of the ball or other. They'll either be good on offense and shot on
defense or vice versa. OU will be the only team that'll be good or better on both offense
and defense.

Interestingly, this USA Today ranking has TCU one spot behind OU after TCU rose from No. 22 to No. 8 from their pre-spring game.

How many different boards did you post this on? Anybody believe it yet? Kansas State could make the playoffs at any time??? Better hope Snyder doesn't drop dead, he will take his 2 star fairy dust with him.

OU will stomp all over TCU in Norman. It'll be over at 1/2 time.

Oops my bad, so it's not a home game, doesn't matter. TCU has to replace 4 of their 5 O-line. They play Ohio St. and Texas back to back before they play OU. They'll likely dead in the water before they even see OU.

One more time it's OU and a bunch of maybes. With UT being at the head of the pack
of maybes.

WVU, TCU and K-State will round out a tough top half though behind OU and Texas this year. I don’t disagree Texas will surprise this coming season as the likely 2 or 3 team in the league. The way they won the Mizzou bowl game and who they return I can see it. Don’t count out the Cats tho - we return 15-16/22.

If anything OU will be down slightly this year (compared to last) which could give that appearance one would suppose

The BigXII will be interesting in 2018

OU replacing big time leaders, on both sides of the ball, Still the odds on favorites, in a down/rebuilding year for the BigXII
WVU is one or two injuries on a horrible defense, pencil thin and will still be bad. Offense will be elite but bad to possible horrible defense.
TCU and Okielite have a lot to replace. Okielite more then anyone!
Texass, a grad transfer on the Oline but no depth. Zero running game a one good WR. Plus they lost all their defensive leaders. Still no QB to run a Tom Herman offense. That's the biggest difference between Riley and Herman. Riley has adapted his offense and Herman hasn't.
KSU and ISU will be solid but I don't see either competing for the title.
Baylor, TT and UK well, they just don't have the players.

I think the XII will surprise this year like it did in basketball. People called it a down year for hoops and ended up hands down the top conference.

8085sooner is dead on. The teams that'll have a chance at top 25 are good on
offense and weak knee on defense. Those 2 are UT and WVU. The rest of the
pack are rebuilding or are a long ways off talent wise. OU should sweep this
mess.

The first 2 games for our Sooners will tell us quite a few things. FAU and UCLA both will give us a good feel for the defense this season as both have pretty explosive offenses.

On offense will Murray or Kendall ( whoever wins the job ) have that special magic and command of the team like BM did? Bottom line for me is that I am going to take that wait and see attitude before penciling in another B12 championship.

TCU is the team I think could derail that B12 championship run.

Agree with most of that (but not on tcu)... The troll has to come to Norman this year and they couldn't take us at their place OR Dallas when they were supposedly better

My concern that overshadows OU’s fortunes this year:
Compensating for Mayfield’s absence. Mayfield singlehandedly determined the outcomes of so many games.
Replacing Parker, Okowronkwo...especially Okowronkwo...on defense.

Obo was good but I thought totally misused mostly... But then I suppose he was doubled or tripled a lot last year

OU-TCU is in Ft. Worth this year (remember, the Rodney Anderson Show was @ Owen last year). I like your idea better though. :)
