That would end many of the mid-majors, which is 80% of D1 schools. Their biggest source of revenue are the 2-3 away games they play at Major schools. Many of those schools already break even at best, but taking away that revenue would put their basketball teams in such a deficit that many would disband.Since the $$$$$$$ drives everything in sports, i think if you add conference tourney and ncaa tourney the max should be 49 games (MAX) meaning you play regular season, conf tourney has between 3 and 5 games for a team and ncaa is max 6 games.
Reg season should be max 38 games (including early season tourneys). If you play in Maui and have 3 games that leaves you with 35 total games. If you are in any of those early tourneys you cannot over book schedule and have to plan it as you play all the games. It would add just a few more games a year (no exhibition) just start season.
No games against the smaller conferences except early season tourneys. So all 38 games against power 5 (BIG 10, SEC, ACC, BiG 12 and BIG East). Teams will have more regular season losses but TV markets from late October thru will be huge.
