Excitement from Rutgers fans

4 Hokie fans, 5 Rutgers fans

Possibly getting 4-10 more people as well
Excited for this team, and a great atmosphere / great weather Saturday
You better cap that Hokie crew to one. We have to clip their wings so they don't spread. 😁

Pretty sure their illusions of grandeur have been tampered the last 20 years, and reinforced with the loss yesterday to Purdue!
Hopefully that’s true. Outside of the fake Miami fans back in the early 2000’s, VT had the most arrogant and worst behaved fans out of all the Big East schools. Security was always busy kicking out VT fans and we still talk about those stories at out tailgate. The most surprising thing was their female fans were worst than the guys.

They must know the female Louisville fans in Kentucky.

Very, very likely gorgeous weather (high confidence in temps in the mid/upper 70s, no rain and low humidity) should help with attendance.

Syracuse and BC fans say “hold my beer”. The cuse fans were always the most clueless arrogant fans until UConn showed their face.

I always thought it was the Cuse fans that were the most arrogant. I like BC fans and a nice road trip.

UConn football fans were surprisingly degenerates but not really arrogant for good reason.

Agreed on Syracuse fans but they were always just talk and douchey. Now their players were more likely to go into the crowd to start fights.😃 VT fans used to get into fights all the time. I recall one game where a large group of them were standing the whole game and security came over. The women were mouthing off and assaulted one of them. We all had a good laugh when they dragged their asses out of the stadium.

Beamer ball was pretty good .… Brian Fortay to Chris Brantley at the old , old stadium… don’t think we won another game against VaTech if ever especially during the Michael Vick era.

Student did a great job showing up now they need to work on staying. About 50% left at halftime in a very close game.

The problem is that Rutgers is going to announce a "sellout" no matter what. We will never really know how good/bad the crowd is since the athletic department always lies about attendance numbers. RU claimed a crowd of 45,317 last night: completely laughable. 2/3 of the upper deck was empty.

No more excuses for fans that haven’t attended either game yet.

Just go
Agree, and also no excuses for these lame "game watch parties" in HOBOKEN, NEW JERSEY for HOME games. Get your *** in a car or train and go to the damn game. You'll spend less on gas and tickets than you will on watered down cocktails and warm beer at some ****** bar in Hoboken!

That's not a lie. The announced attendance number is the number of tickets sold. Every school does that.

Correct. Not sure how this is still a point of confusion. The reality is the number of tickets sold is what matters, but schools do mess those numbers up by giving tickets away that they can count as sold (our opener vs Northwestern, as an example) - or selling them for $0.01 each... 3,000 tickets for $30, for example, so they're not technically free.

So what who really cares… the team won … is 2-0 and now needs to really put it together on Saturday. Enough people to make some noise.

RU keeps winning and the empty seats being complained about will be filled.
But until then , even after wins, the seat counters will have their say.
My count is 36-7

I think there was one game under Shea with Mike Stephens when we almost pulled an upset in Blacksburg. But generally the games were ugly.

Beamer almost was a goner in his year 7 at VT …miraculously they went on a real run and Mike Vick elevated them to super status.

Exactly. We have the weirdest fans in the world. No other fan base would make an issue out of this. In fact most fan bases would support it and say “we pack our stadium and ‘f’ all of you for suggesting we don’t”. Only at Rutgers do we try and tear down our own so vigorously.

That the sad part most of these posters are fair weather fans or from another school or maybe not a part of any school. That has always been the problem.
