I didn't think Kugler had been doing the show for some time now.

I'm to believe his commitments to national broadcasts take precedent. Too bad UNL couldn't bring his talent to the Husker radio booth. He and D Benning would kill it as a duo.

Watched them all this yr. Putney has done 2 shows total. Likes others said, it's b/c of the Kugler's television commitments (calling Creighton and B1G mbb game's...). Don't know anything specific but won't be surprised if Kugler moves onto bigger things at some point...

I'm not sure what bigger things you are referring to. He does the play for Westwood One for the Sunday night NFL games plus one or two college basketball games a week after football is done. He is the play by play announcer for the Final Four plus has covered at least 4 Olympics. In addition, he goes to Augusta every year for the Masters.

He does do some games for Fox Sports (big east basketball) and the B1G network.

The guy before Punteney was pretty good. I think he went to A&M, not sure why? forgot his name.

The Kug should be the play by play voice for Nebraska football. But - he has a pretty good gig in place doing alot of radio and TV - my guess is those pay better than the Nebraska gig would ......especially the BTN deal.

I wouldn't be surprised if he picks up a bigger anchor gig on one of the major networks (or a job as a TV game broadcaster for a major network). Again, I know nothing (except that he, or someone who works for him, does read these boards...). He is very good at his job.
