If you can play, then you can play, but realize how big of a difference there was between the competition Gates and Moore faced in HS compared to Farniok. Moore played in the large school classification of Florida. Gates played in a Las Vegas school full of top prospects, which went out of state to play against the top programs in the west. If it takes a bit for Farniok to adjust, that would be completely expected. If he plays right away, that would be an upset. Of course, given our depth at OT, he may be sent out to sink or swim.
Farniok did just fine in the All Star game recently and he did in fact have to block a couple of D-1 (albeit lesser programs) scholarship recruits in high school. Not every South Dakota D-lineman is 6' 230lbs. That said, I expect him to need to redshirt. Its a big leap to college football for even a kid from the biggest high schools. He'll have plenty to learn.

I'm sure that it will be a big jump for Matt. The top programs in SD are still pretty weak compared to most states. Omaha has a population that is equal to our whole state - just to give a comparison. That being said, I think he has the skills & pedigree to do just fine.
