ACC has 15 teams.

What defies odds is that with 14 teams, our 2nd to worst team would be considered a middle of the pack team in most non-Big 12 power conferences (not quite in the SEC either, but they are clearly better than the bottom four).
It’s not that hard to understand

So according to the OP and their ilk, the NCAA Tourney is the determinant of conference strength. If the BIG was only 7-5 vs. 6-7, we would be considered the best conference in the country.

Hate to break it to you, but the Elite 8 could have been all Big10 this year, and next year a 9th place mediocre Rutgers team that finishes the season in free fall still ain’t making the tournament.
You are wrong. 95+% of bracketologists...osu loss...msg home game...yes, we choked minny...but still should have gotten in

I will not partake in your Rutgers self hate

Did I mention you were wrong?

95% of the bracketologists were proven wrong.

Rutgers resume was probably good enough, but I think committee is going to take a lot of heat for taking more than half of a single conference so will have to be remarkably better than your out of conference peers to get in at that point, regardless of how well your conference plays in tournament the prior year. I guess only 5% of bracketologists considered this.

We don’t know why the committee left us out, but I am pretty certain B1G performance in the tournament from different years was not a huge factor.

I do generally root for the teams in our conference unless I have a specific reason to root for their opponents, but it’s a lot like rooting for our non-conference opponents during the season. It certainly can’t hurt, but it’s not a hugely important factor either way.

I disagree with the statement that non-conference opponent games are not hugely important.

Wake Forest lost at Pitt 81-79. Rider lost at Providence 66-65. If you flip only the outcome of these two games (as a basic example) - is there any way we miss the field?

But so would the 2nd best, and that's why so many of the Big 10's tournament teams got stuck in seeds that are difficult to reach the second weekend from.

Big Ten crapped the bed yet again, finding a yet more spectacular way than the year prior, and year prior, and year prior. Shameful. Purdue and Rutgers hurt conference pretty bad, but mostly Purdue. 6 bids next year is the cap.

its all meaningless---i have a metric--what power league gets the most dollars for its schools and will be on tv from noonday till midnight and has tremendous academic ratings
Exactly, BIG is best conference by a mile. And about to get better by two miles.
