Big Ten Network and Flo

Pat Mineo reported on Twitter that Flo will not be streaming the Big 10 Network any more. I have not seen an article confirming this. Does anyone know if this is true? I guess everything would be on the Big 10 Network App or Big 10+. If this is true, I'm likely going to drop Flo.

True from what I was told. BTN via TV/Apps will be producing everything BIG related. I believe the App model has been set up so you can choose between paying for all RU sports only or all BIG team sports for an additional fee. BTN covers all BIG team sports but when they choose to televise it nationally/regionally.

Big10 network has been a disaster when it comes to wrestling. The TV channel constantly overbooks events so that you can be watching the final inconsequential 5 minutes of Nebraska vs Illinois basketball as Penn State vs Iowa wrestling is starting the first bout. Their online feeds also crap out at a way higher rate than is acceptable.

I’m also assuming they won’t have any broadcasting rights to the Southern Scuffle or any other in season tournaments.

It is incredible that a sport that has stressed the importance of growth can’t find a way to consolidate stream services to allow fans to watch anything they’d like.

Unfortunately BTN/Big10 is not interested in growing the sport of Wrestling, they are only interested in maximizing Big10 revenues. IMO Flo is going to have to drop their subscription rate significantly and go back to a monthly payment system or risk huge cancellations with requests for a prorated refund. I'm guessing BTN tried to get Flo to up streaming rights fees significantly, and Flo couldn't afford it financially so Big10 calculated they could make a lot more keeping it all in house. Coach Goodale and Ashnault talked about it today on their podcast, they didn't seem thrilled but understood 'it's just business'.

Well I can't be too mad at BTN they're the main reason we have a fully funded wrestling program now. The money we're promised allowed Rutgers athletics to borrow against future gains and fully fund the program.
