That second half, against one of the best teams around in terms of halftime adjustments, was monstrous.
Season changing win. McIntosh and Lindsay were indredible - over 70% of points!
I’ve been to 8 home games and that was the first I felt we were in the minority. Great to send them home with a loss and hearing a couple of their meltdowns in the stands made my night.

A nice little bump up to #71 in KenPom. The team should rightfully enjoy this win tonight.
But another big game looms on the road against Maryland, which, despite their 5-7 conference record, is a strong team (#39 KenPom, and Michigan is #32 after tonight). Four of their seven losses have been to Purdue and Michigan State. The other three: Ohio State, Michigan and Indiana. Tough slate.
Considering NU plays Maryland twice in nine days, it sure would be nice to take the front end. Anything is possible. Trimble is gone. Back to .500. A lot of ball left.

If NU can go 5-1 in the last six games, then they're probably a BTT win away from comfortably getting into the NIT and a couple of BTT wins from potentially getting on the NCAA bubble.
The big issue is the lack of quality wins, as measured by RPI. If Penn State were ranked 101 instead of 99, this Michigan win would be NU's only Top 100 win this season. That wouldn't be so damning if NU didn't also have losses to GA Tech and IU on its resume.
It will be a tough slog. But Collins seems to have found a mindset that works for this group, at last. I'd be satisfied with a deep NIT run at this point, in no small part because I could probably make the later rounds at Madison Square Garden.
Missed the game, but very pleased to see this thread! The 'Cats absolutely had to have this one if they still have dreams of post season play.
Scottie and Bmac played like the players everyone expected.. big time performances. Every game is a tournament game coming up
Agree, Scottie carried us early and BMac late. They both avoided the urge to jack it up at first chance. The offense really slowed down when they were out.
Loved that the Blue fans went home disappointed. They were hooting and hollaring the first 5 minutes.

Indiana is #79 KenPom and GaTech is #105. Not exactly devastating losses.The wins vs. Michigan (#32) and Penn St. (#44) essentially negate them. Of course, a win vs. MSU (#6) would REALLY help...
I was surrounded by 10 middle aged Michigan fans who were drunken yolkels from the Ann Arbor area. Thank god we won, because I really struggled to take them even with us slapping them around the second half. I sure hope NU gets a cut of the beer sales, because those guys went to town tonight.
Until RPI is dead and gone I’ll use that for gauging quality wins and bad losses. KenPom is better for looking ahead at future opponents.
Nothing is a bridge too far, when you have the B1G Tourney.
Unfortunately, I think our seniors are the British 1st Airborne and having a tough time of it in Arnhem (Rosemont), and while Pardon and Law (XXX Corps) are doing their thing, the bridge at Nijmegen will need the reinforcing Americans (Isiah Brown) to be given a chance to step up. Will it be a bridge too far? Time will only tell. Collins is looking a lot like Monty this year though, with his inexplicable benching of Brown.

I like Ken Pom's stuff as much as the next guy, but it still needs to be treated as supplemental material in a post season analysis...at least for the time being.

They were looking at NEB resume last night and Robbie Hummel saying " Well if they win out, it would be hard to keep them out" Of course that means a 14-4 conference record. Issue, 1-5 against top 50 with no big games remaining and that win was against Mich. The indication was much less than winning out and there would be issues. This has to be the craziest promo ever. Free wedges if the other team misses 3 consecutive free throws in the second half. When it flashed up, I was like no way will that ever happen. Then I was like give me those coupons, I want my wedges!
