I think the ACC will be more competitive than Franklin thinks.Too good not to share. Specific dates yet to be determined. Two games (bolded) stood out to me as being intriguing.
• Home (4): Georgia Tech, Pitt, Stanford, Virginia
• Away (5): Boston College, Cal, Clemson, Miami and SMU
Intriguing in what way? Georgia Tech, UVA, Clemson and Miami appear to be tougher matchups though It’s hard to tell from season to season what any of these teams actually have going for them.Too good not to share. Big James' focus from year to year was on OSU or Michigan, recently Indiana-although he didn't have the chance to show him what he had planned or prepared for...part of me thinks his replacement had better answers.Intriguing in what way? Are you thinking of going to either or both of those bolded games?
Let some of us mourn for a while...it's been a slow and painful death of optimism under Franklin IMHO.I don't understand why our elite fans can't turn the page and look forward to "excellence at the highest level" and "the National Championship" we deserve? We have More with Less Campbell now and he's recruiting no P4 offer 3 stars in an effort to prove he doesn't need blue chips to win.

I'll try to control myself, but in all honesty I felt like I already controlled myself for the past few years.
Up until the conference expansion, PSU took a back seat to UM and OSU. Now, we need to contend with Oregon and probably USC. Suddenly and somewhat inexplicably, Indiana is trending. I've said for a long time that many would be happier fans if they accepted that PSU being 8-15 most years is precisely where it belongs. Fans wanting to be a national champion won't make it so. 2 in 132 ? I know some will say we got cheated at least once.....but beating Miami in the Fiesta Bowl was a long shot too.Let some of us mourn for a while...it's been a slow and painful death of optimism under Franklin IMHO.

I'd be more concerned about PSU, if I were a PSU fan. If Franklin loses a game or 6 does that mean "WE" win the national championship Kraft promised? Let's predict if Do more with less Matt beats USC and Michigan. He must win all the games vs. "teams without a pulse."Loses to Pitt and Virginia at home and losses to UM, SMU, Cal and Clemson on the road. Looks like a 6-6 season or worse.
Will VT losing make PSU losses easier to digest?Com’on guys. Didn’t you learn anything??1-0…. well 0-0 since we don’t know who is first opponent. Maybe a Thursday night game before Labor Day against “The Duzz” (or BOB). Attractive match up!
Willing to bet your house on that National Championship in 3 years? I would be ecstatic if it happens but you might want to temper your expectations.I could not care less about VT - We don't play them and I am sure James will beat all the soup cans on the schedule and lose to Miami and Clemson with another occasional upset as well every year. Once Campbell get's his feet under him I expect good things - and yes he is looking at some 3 stars now since we lost most of the recruiting class but that will change and yes our fans deserve a National Championship and 100% Campbell will deliver one within 3 years.
Oh look another day and another let’s keep beating the Franklin dead horse post from Nittering Nabob. Who would have ever thunk it?Too good not to share. Specific dates yet to be determined. Two games (bolded) stood out to me as being intriguing.

I'll take that bet. I must have missed all of the 5 stars and even 4 stars that the previous coach brought into this program in the last several seasons. Also, a lot of the previous coach's recruits just completed a season in which they lost to UCLA and Northwestern, two programs that probably were made up largely of a bunch of 1 to 3 star recruits, and Iowa, which probably was made up of a lot of 2 and 3 star recruits. PSU under his leadership was becoming an unsubstantive program, regardless of his recruiting, which had slipped in recent seasons. When he was fired, our 2026 recruiting class was ranked in the 15 to 20 range.“our fans deserve a National Championship and 100% Campbell will deliver one within 3 years.”
You guys crack me up. We just had a 2 player recruiting class to build a foundation on, and added some guys we’d all be bit(hing and complaining about if Franklin was still here. We have to hope for a miracle between January 2 and January 16 just to be somewhat competitive next year, and that would be with a bunch of one year wonders.
The good news is you can enjoy your dream for at least another 8 months and no one can tell you whether you’re right or wrong. After that, well, let’s just say that I hope you have a VERY understanding wife.
The VT vs BC game will be the Former PSU Head Coach Bowl. Bill O'Brien coaches BC.Too good not to share. Specific dates yet to be determined. Two games (bolded) stood out to me as being intriguing.

We were dynamite against winless MSU and only gave up 36 points to Rutgers. James never reached those milestones.Big James' focus from year to year was on OSU or Michigan, recently Indiana-although he didn't have the chance to show him what he had planned or prepared for...part of me thinks his replacement had better answers.
I think VTech may be more of a learning/growing experience for James than he thinks, because of the fluidity of overall team quality and performance in this conference...and his reputation for preparation and adjustment speak for itself.
And maybe I am slightly bitter, mostly because I wanted to see at least one good game each year against a tough opponent (usually OSU) or situation (we had more than enough this year), generally overall improvement throughout the year, and THE adult in the room to act like one.

Also, IU just completed two seasons in which they lost a grand total of two games by playing with a bunch of Sun Belt Conference players. Coaching matters. I'm confident that Campbell is a better pure foorball coach than the previous guy and at least will be able to stabilize this program and keep it competitive until his regime takes full effect. He's only been here for less than two weeks and from afar it appears as if he's already done a credible job.

They will take 6-6 with him in the first year? Did you watch them this year? Just terrible football players. It's a huge rebuild. 6-6 would be a success.Loses to Pitt and Virginia at home and losses to UM, SMU, Cal and Clemson on the road. Looks like a 6-6 season or worse.

You’re boy is gonna get smoked at tech lolWe were dynamite against winless MSU and only gave up 36 points to Rutgers. James never reached those milestones.
At least he'll have a roster to coach. PSU frantically recruiting players with Delaware like offers so they can field a team. Excellence at the highest level. You’re boy is gonna get smoked at tech lol

Then there is a "big" playoff game. That had better be a win as well.
I didn't hear the Virginia Tech AD promise "excellence at the highest level" or a NC? Did you?
But we have you to coach them up.PSU frantically recruiting players with Delaware like offers so they can field a team. Excellence at the highest level.![]()
