Which teams from last year are expected to have the biggest drop off from last year to this year? Any top tier teams headed for a down year?

Ok I'll get this started.....and again don't we need to start with schools such as Prairie Ridge? Two time state title winner graduated some serious talent....and I'm certainly not expecting a huge fall off because PR is a very strong program up and down the line but compared to the last few years????

Naperville North- they are losing their OC and a very talented class and when you include they have been weak at the lower levels the last few years they could struggle.

I personally see Willowbrook having a down year. It's hard to replace a guy like Jessen, who was a star for them for years. They have some solid players returning, but I doubt they'll have the same level of success without Jessen. Hinsdale South wasn't at the level they have been in past years, but still ended up making the playoffs. It's hard seeing then making the playoffs this year though in my opinion. They are losing star WR and at times safety Destin Talbert, as well as Kozlow at QB, and other key players on defense. It looks like they are turning their starting RB, Sophomore Marquese Garret, into their new QB. Good arm, but lack of knowledge and experience at the position may hurt him.

In CPS Solorio Academy is expected to have a major fall off now that generational talent, Quincy Patterson is heading to Virginia Tech.

Curie is an intriguing candidate for a slight drop as they get used to their new HC but they are always loaded with talent in the building.

Eyes turn to Phillips next. Losing major playmakers in Elmore, Gibbs, Taylor etc. can prove costly and lead to some drop off.

I agree PR will be down, though they can be near top again with a good senior and some very good juniors the following.

We should be the team to beat in the Fox and a top contender in 6A this year-

I will second NN. I am Fcsting they will finish 4th just ahead of Metea in the 5 team Naper/Valley Conference (can we still call it the DVC with only two original members left?)

Naper Valley makes sense. Are all the schools even in DuPage?

Phillips will be ok to much talent on this team from freshman all the way up to the senior class respect the P. They have 3 senior with 2 State champions and a gang of return players with 1 these young men know how to win and the new QB Leonard Smith is taking over this offense RB Rayshaun Thompson is going to run the ball with authority and DE DeAndre Johnson is going to be one of the best edge rusher in the state and one more thing Jahleel BILLINGSLEY, Fabian McCray, Joseph Thompson,Ronald Pledger,Dominic Bass,Demerick Morris,Emmanuel Clark and I’m missing some more heavy hitters I’m sorry for that wildcat nation. But you get the picture no drop off at Phillips

No drop off for Philips. They have the best DC in the world. Don’t need players when the guy is that good!

Lol. No!! Neuqua is in Will county I believe. The other 4 are in DuPage (WV, MV, NN, NC).

The name “Naper Valley Conference” is growing on me. NVC is close to DVC and rolls off the tongue nicely!

I’ll let him know and thank you for the compliment but the adults were talking about the young men that play the game

Could this possibly be Crystal Lake South's year? It appears they have 2 Division I linemen with 1 of them having standing offers from the biggest schools in the Country. Is that enough to overcome the experience that CG has coming back? Is it a sure thing that Priester is coming back for football? After getting drilled in the face during baseball is there a chance that he decides that the TCU baseball offer is bigger than playing football his Senior year?

The school itself(Neuqua) sits in Dupage, however it draws from neighborhoods in will county as well as Dupage. example a small portion of Rivwr run is in Will county the remainder is in Dupage. I lived two lots from the line on the Will side.

You are correct. The portion of District 204 that is south of 87th Street is in Will County. The largest portion of the District is in DuPage and that includes WV and MV.

The DVC got its name from the fact that all the original 8 members sat in the Dupage River basin and not in Dupage County. Bonus question can you name the 8 charter schools for the conference?

From the 1970’s when it started? I’m probably going to get this wrong (fearing a trick question) but here goes.

Weren’t there 3 Wheaton schools at one point in the 1970’s?

Wheaton Central
Wheaton North
Wheaton Warrenville south
Glenbard North
Glenbard South
West Chicago
Naperville central
Naperville North

Are these the founding 8 Members? Tons of changes over the years - west Aurora, LP etc etc.

Jwar - I’m almost positive that Neuqua is in Will county.

CB - how did I do? Are those 8 correct? I am just not sure if all 3 wheaton schools were active at the same time. I know Central was closed and merged into WWS and WN but I think all 3 were in the DVC before Central merger with the other 2 wheaton schools.

Voodoo,

The way the map looks you and the OP are correct. The way the signs were setup and taxes were in River Run when I left in 2016 it would tell a different story. All said I was surprised to see what I saw online and it appears that I am wrong.

87th Street is the southern border of DuPage County in that part of Naperville.

Wheaton Warrenville was the 8th school before it closed in 1984 and was merged into Wheaton Central and North. Glenbard East replaced WW in the DVC. Wheaton Central moved into the newer renovated WW property in 1992 and the school was renamed WWS.

South had the same two D1 guys last year....same 3-6 record as year prior.

No doubt. The OC with the Calcagno and Davis combo carried that team. I hear the HC is going to call the offense. The last time he was HC and OC they struggled big time.
