People can point to Indiana not being good. People can say they were without their top 2 WRs but the D really showed up tonight regardless. Pitched a shut out in the second half. That kind of play is all you can ask for

Good point.

At the same time, people have been saying Nebraska isn’t good (and rightfully so), so credit where credit is due… the coaches got the players prepared and they won the game. Good victory.

I am kind of blown away by our improvement on defense. Just one game, but considering where we were, wow.
The tackling is what really stood out to me. That along with the addition by subtraction of firing Chinander.

Well don't feel like the Lone Ranger. I bet there were boatloads of fans like us who were shocked massively seeing our defense come on so strong. Haha.....it was great!

When is the last time a Husker team made adjustments and played better in the second half, taking control of the game?

With the way the first half ended, I thought we were heading to another embarrassment.

Did Tommi Hill play tonight? Don’t remember seeing him a lot. Been seeing him a lot earlier this season and that’s not good to see a CB a lot. Didn’t see him a lot tonight and that’s either excellent by him or he didn’t play and I missed something.

Hertzog started in his spot and Hill’s PT was pretty limited.

some pass rush, some middle lb play, some db play, some special teams, some passing, some running, and blocking. really happy about overall team effort. new guys and old guys showing up to make football plays. not sure when last time i thought the overall team play had left as many possibles for me to think about. have to see how this works out.

Yes he played a few snaps. I think they were mostly on obvious rushing downs. He has been really bad. #13 played really well for a freshman. And he was in man coverage almost every play.

I’m seriously wondering what in the heck Chinander was doing here. Outside of a rough patch in the second quarter, this team covered receivers, tackled and in general played with a ton of energy.

I agree. I think Chinander absolutely refused to adapt to what these players are good at. He couldn't do it.

Right. This wasn’t a juggernaut like Northwestern, North Dakota or Georgia Southern.
This.

I think many didn’t read my full post. I want to see a lot more, but if Joseph can keep this up and say—get us bowl eligible for the first time since 2016–he absolutely deserves consideration. He took over a dumpster fire.

I wasn't too impressed. We stayed in cover 1 literally the entire game and Indiana couldn't exploit it. Against smarter teams, it isn't going to work running the exact same thing over and over again.

Matt Millen had some good commentary on what we’re doing in the second half from play to play on coverages. We were getting some pressure on him though and for the most part he couldn’t get the ball out to the right guy. Their QB isn’t a runner and doesn’t like to move his feet. Thank God we brought pressure

Against better teams we won’t run the same defense over and over. It was working against Indiana and so they stuck with it.

We really didn’t run the exact same D on every play. We blitzed from different places a mixed up coverage to some degree. I will agree that our alignments and coverages were similar and WAY more logical than the crap Chin called for OU
