Yes, you are probably correct that this team has more depth. However a starting 5 that has Crawford, shurna, cobble, juice would be the best NU lineup in my NU fandom ( 30 years)
Mentioning BC and D in the same sentence?One could make an argument for the but-for injury-riddled (along w/ a suspension) '12-'13 team w/ Crawford, Swop, Cobb, Hearn, Olah, Sobo and Marcotullio (w/ a young Demps and Lumpkin) as being the most talented of the BC era.
Maybe not quite the offensive punch, but a good bit better on D (esp. if the starting backcourt is made up of Cobb and Hearn).
Please, Hearn was a late blooming, ok walk on, Swop a 5th year bench addition, Cobb was always injury prone and Sobo and Marco would have trouble getting off the bench with this squad. Certainly from an offensive perspective. But the current team has shown that defense wins more games, so I am not sure if I necessarily agree. Law, Lindsey and Mac have become very good two way players. And no one on that team could have guarded Pardon.Yes, you are probably correct that this team has more depth. As I said below, no big man on that 2011 squad and this squad is so much better on defense. The 2011 team would have been fun to watch, though, with everyone healthy.Interesting article.
