Why has Warren Buffett not offered thousands to these big name kids like other schools are doing. 50k a year to all scolly players and he's only out 4mill a year.

As long as we’re spending Warren’s money put me down for a chunk. $250K should do me good.😉

You're kidding right? When has Buffett indicated the tiniest bit of interest in Nebraska sports?

So the answer to your question: He doesn't give a ****.

And for the little that its worth. Minimal research would teach you that Warren is and always has been interested in and a yuge fan of the Huskers.

I don’t think he cares much for sports. Probably views it as a waste of resources when he could be donating to more important causes.
That could be true. He attends (holds season tickets) an awful lot of football and bball games for someone not interested though.

And if he did give a $&it about Husker sports TA could have fired Frost and Hoieberg by now and we would have Taj Mahal in facilities already built..

Ok, you say he attends a lot of games and you wan't to know "Why has Warren Buffett not offered thousands to these big name kids like other schools are doing?" It still seems to me that he doesn't give a ****. Attending games and being a huge booster are completely different levels of interest. I think the proof is right in front of you - he doesn't care enough.

If you would have bought 14.5 million shares of a company your buddy was about to buy you would be able to make Nebraska football great again.

Buffett is a huge tightwad. He doesn't even pay for football tickets when he is invited to attend games. People just assume he's anonymously donating money to the school, but it isn't true. Plus, he's still pouting about UNL signing a soda deal with Pepsi instead of the company he owns a chunk of (Coke).

It could be that a person of his vast wealth would rather donate to charitable causes that are in need of money.

Ask BNSF employees what they think of Buffet. It's definitely not a great PR story.

Dude hasn’t become one of the wealthiest men in the world by investing in losers.

Uncle didn't get rich by doing this. He also cares about things more important than sports. Education and philanthropy for starters. His money is being spent wisely.

But not interested in putting money into the athletic program. He can be a fan and still choose to do with his money what he wants. Giving money to athletics is not a social program he supports

I agree...that he doesn't care enough.

In the same breath, he can choose to care about what he wants to. I suspect he has higher priority interests than that of Nebraska athletics.

Meh, used to be impressed that most of his money was to be used to truly help people.
But as that help is being given to the evil ********** Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (it's really called that). I'm less impressed with him. Don't think highly of people like Gates who IMO view themselves as benevolent gods directing humanity according to their plan.
Whether Buffet believes the way Gates does I don't know. He is giving his money to his foundation though so there is that.

where we don't have a chance....but I don't want to buy a championship..
it's his money, but it doesn't hurt trying to fund raise :)

Buffet may or may not have contributed to the athletic department over the years, but if he did I would guess it would be anonymously. Ditto to the academic side as well, maybe he has donated in regards to that in an anonymous gesture.

As I don't keep up with Warren or donations in general to UNL, maybe some day more information might come to light on the givings of one Mr. Buffet.
