Yeah. I can see a coach being pissed about a 23-5 free throw disparity
. If UK had to deal with that, we'd have a hundred threads talking about how the refs hate Kentucky.

A number of our free throws were toward the end. Plus the commentators said a couple times that Florida players should have threw the ball towards the basket with contact instead of trying to pass. That cost them at least a few free throws. They also got a number of uncontested layups while our guys got hammered most of the time.

UK should have more games like this...a team full of future pros should have a huge advantage at the line almost every game.

I never ever bring up FT disparity because even the biggest basketball simpletons know that this never tells the full story. To be honest, I don't think anyone here gets on refs about number of free-throws.

Different styles of basketball dictate fouls. Florida drove the ball but avoided contact at all costs. Florida committed 18 fouls, with 5 being in the last 2 minutes. Kentucky committed 11.

How would they get to the line? We spent the entire game letting them run right up to the rim and layup the ball without even trying to stop them. Would he rather have had all those layups pounded into their faces and get to earn their points at the line? I'd personally love to see that.

I thought we got away with some fouls and they got away with some walks. Wasn't a deciding factor.

LOL...I'm not saying the disparity was deserved or not. Hell, maybe it should have been greater.

All I said was that I can see why a coach would complain about that type of free throw disparity. Even a *basketball simpleton* has the ability to understand why that would frustrate a coach.

Too much was uncalled both direction early in the game. Fla should have had more FTA in the 1st half, for sure. Of course, UK should've had about 15 more attempts on the game, too.

That's on the refs. They let it get too physical, and then countered by trying to keep things under control, and calling ticky tack stuff on the perimeter at times. NO FTA come out of that ....

He just finished the season with a losing record. I'd be pissed too if that's how I followed up last season.

I've never understood why people felt they should be even. A better team should get fouled more. That aside, in the first half, Donovan called a time out after Dakari scored complaining to the ref about Dakari's elbows (replay showed donovan's complaints were legit). Next offensive possession, Dakari bowls a guy over and the same ref called a foul on Florida. The ref did not appreciate Donovan's lecture.

Those officials were bad. Florida double pivoted all over the place. Bump calls were wildly inconsistent. I wish college would just use NBA rules. Inconsistency starts with them (NCAA) changing rules and just micromanaging the piss out of officiating. Get a solid set of rules that don't change, and then get some professional officials.

I've never seen a call like that one on Dakari where his arm inadvertently bumped his defender's face as they were jockeying for post position. On the other side, when Dakari tripped over a defender's foot and they called a foul on the defender. BS stuff. **** happens sometimes. Doesn't mean you have to call a foul. Basketball is physical. Meanwhile, while they're watching that nonsense, UF was traveling all over the damn paint.

Both of those calls (inadvertent arm, and trip) were "points of emphasis" a few+ years ago. So silly. It's like they makeup these BS rules to make it appear as if they (NCAA) do productive things.

I read his quotes. Nothing wrong with what he said. He thought our free throws were justified. He just thought FL should have gotten more opportunities.

There are 2 threads on Louisville Scout (I was curious what they were doing with their time off) and both are like "I was watching the tracker on the ESPN app and the FT disparity is ridiculous, the FIX is in. WWW gets his"

You can't make it up.

The game thread on the Florida board is just 2 or 3 Florida fans whining about free throws.

I've never understood why smaller teams who drive into shot blockers feel entitled to be rewarded with free throws.

Billy may have had a point he was trying to make, Box score shows NO FLA STARTER even had an attempt for the whole game. It is what it is though..C U Next Year Gators

Yep, that disparity led them to their 16-17 record.

Billy D can now go to Disney World.

Next excuse.......

Guess he has to pick something to not be happy about.... Now maybe he now has something to try and get his next year's team to play with a chip on their shoulder about, if not its gonna be ugly again down there.

Billy D whines about free throw shooting more than any coach in the league.... He gets by with it too... I don't suppose he wants to discuss the disparity in free throws when he had his mugs playing for a national championship...

Gotta keep it closer to whine about the refs. If UF got 18 more free throw to even it up and made 80% of them, they still lose.
