Heck that's what happened to Kestrel Heights.. they were crap for ages then started to compete somewhat and got busted. That one still makes me chuckle.

Pretty sure state shut them down for a few years. Coach and some players, (the ones who had not earned their diploma yet, lol) went to new charter maybe in Chatham Co. Several years later they reopened elementary maybe.
