Random question - when did this pregame video tradition start? My first attended game was in the 02/03 season and while I’m not confident, I think I remember it then.

Just curious.

I’m also an advocate that bittersweet symphony should be the football intro as well and use Grove Street Party for the start of the 2nd half or after big 3rd down stops (2nd half is where it originally happened organically)

Has it been updated..since it was created up until atleast last year it had the 96 team of course but had no images of Pitino in it, while it has Rupp, Hall, and Tubby...and I think a newer one had Cal raising the trophy

It has been updated to include Pope. The oldest version I remember did have Pitino in it - when he and Brassow hugged at half court af Maui.

I'm 99% sure it was being played sometime before Pitino took the UL job, because I can remember at his first game back at Rupp as UL's coach, there was a smattering of boos when the clip of him and Brassow was shown.

Funny thing about that song is it pretty much destroyed the Verve’s career as it used a Rolling Stone sample that wasn’t cleared so Mick Jagger and co got all the money from a huge hit.

While it uses part of the tune for Bittersweet Symphony, it's a sped up remix called Water Verwe by Baris Balci. The part used for the video is about the 42 second mark. I asked on here several years ago if anyone knew the actual version used and this is what I was told. I have it on our playlist for the high school games that I play during our games. Unfortunately we don't have enough video footage to do a whole montage

Love that song. I used to live my life like that video. Long before it ever came out. I'm a much nicer fellow now but every now and again I like to turn the tables on the "walking in a crowd" etiquette. Read the room people.

You can still find the “right here right now” intro Kentucky used a lot during the early 00s and stuff. Loved that intro that led into the starting lineup
