He was highlighted as an impact player for Notre Dame’s defense, and also made a tackle on their 3rd and 15 to force a punt.

So much for the board conspiracy theorists who thought he might not even start for ND.

Also returning punts, apparently. Interesting.

I wish he was still at NU but I understand his move the way things are now in college football world. Hopefully for him they will not ask him to tackle too much in run defense. He's not too good at that..

Kirk herbstreet conveniently forgot to bring up that he was a captain and quit on his teammates.
On cue, exposed in space covering on that touchdown.

He’s definitely running all over the field early. Some nice plays, but had one where he was exposed a little.

Joesph has a lot of talent and really enjoyed watching him in Evanston. Hope he keeps getting better this year and goes early day 2 in April.

It looked like that TD was more likely on #5, who OsU is already picking on.

Momentum has quickly shifted to OSU, as ND is about to punt again after a big sack.

The bad news for us: OSU looks just as good as expected.

Or maybe that was on Joseph? He’s not out there on this drive, but #5 is.

Looks like BJo was replaced with #2? Are they rotating series?

Looked like he was off the field in their next defensive series following OSU's TD.

Been in position since and made a few tackles. Hasn’t wrapped when tackling; more leading with the shoulder…at least from what I’ve seen. Looks like he belongs out there, though. No question.

He’s been back in on every defensive snap since and returned punts since. ND’s D has played well, holding OSU to only 7 so far.

I noticed the poor tackling form as well. Hasn’t hurt them… yet.

BJo’s not out there in the 4th quarter on a crucial drive for OSU. #11 and #2 are in at safety for ND.

BJo is still a bad tackler. He's best as on 3rd and long as a free safety playing centerfield.

Incorrect, changed this season
Joseph is a quitter with no
thumbs and none of the demonstrated skills necessary to play on Sundays.

Fact is he’s gotten a ton of mileage out of one great play vs OSU and a bunch of QBs tossing him some easy to catch balls in 2020.

He still has time to turn it around. But this is his 4th year in college football and everything points now to someone who will be very disappointed on draft day. GOUNUII

It is noteworthy that he’s been pulled in the 4th given OSU is predominantly running the ball and taking over.

Almost as if the ND coaches don’t trust him to defend the run…

The depth chart had him as "OR" with #11. BJo has been out there 75-80% of the time on D. He was back in the game for the last TD, and he seemed to just watch the RB walk into the endzone.

Pretty sure they can only do it one time without sitting out.

updated: There have been so many proposals and the NCAA themselves not following their own rules, confusion will continue.

A vote on eliminating the current rules scheduled for 8/3/22 was put off until later. Here’s an athletic article. Unlimited eligibility will occur eventually it’s just delayed for now.

He was still named an All-American defensive player, rather you or anyone likes it or not. His eligibility runs until at least 2024.

Seems like he was in on two tackles on the first defensive series and then was a nonfactor other than fair-catching some punts, whiffing a tackle or two, and talking some trash.

Being named an All American means nothing to the people who evaluate and draft NFL players. GOUNUII

Just remember, ND would wipe NU’s arse all over the field. OSU will crush NU too
You sound bitter about something. First time I’ve seen a purported NU fan boast of how other teams would wipe our arse and otherwise crush us. GOUNUII

Disagree about ND wiping the floor with NU. They looked pretty mediocre, and their QB really struggled

BJo made a big play when he knocked their record setting WR out of the game in the first half (on a clean play). Once OSU got rolling in the second half the game was over.

We get to find out how we’ll do against OSU in a few weeks…

It’s not about having a bad game. It’s entirely a matter of never demonstrating -over the course of a season - NFL level talent. One play vs OSU ain’t going to get it done. GOUNUII

A little overreach with ND
