Wait until the first game where the defense doesn't play well. "Take away the Blackshirts til they earn them back" guy will show up.There has been a startling lack of blackshirt talk this year.... Must mean Riley is handling the tradition well.
That is my take on the situation as wellYeah, i think everyone is kinda tired of the discussion. That, and our defense has not been special for a while.

Exactly; would add over the years players will say they are inspired by and play to be proud of the Blackshirt. All the semantics gets a bit tiring; omnipotent opinions only help so much; lets play ball. GBRThe tradition is not for badass defenses. It's to award the starting position a blackshirt. I would love the defense to become legendary once again. The same could be said for the entire team. As it is, I'm happy that Riley understands the tradition and doesn't withhold them until they "earn" them, like the wearing of said blackshirt suddenly makes one perform better. It's up to the coaches to prepare the players for the game and for the players to execute that game plan. We'll see if the coaching staff hold themselves accountable in that endeavor.
