That dude really is a terrible moderator.
Comparing the generally accepted dialogue here to there should make you proud to be a member of this board. Thank you to all moderators, past and present, as well as the guys run this whole show. Many of us don't get a long and occasionally throw M-80s at each other, but the personal insults are at a minimum (whereas that's the go to or OrangeDump) and I can't recall ever seeing a homosexual slur here, which you see regularly over there.
Some might feel that the rules are a little to tightly enforced, but look no further than Bevo's dumpster fire to see what happens when you let keyboard warriors roam free on a message board.

the biggest problem is MM seems to be doing it all by himself. It does not help that people seem to take advantage of that and feel that a free board should be moderated like a pay board. Either way, the thread seems destined to...
Yep, during my long tenure here I've seen it both ways, and uh, believe me, I'd much rather participate in a slightly over moderated board than one where the inmates are running the asylum.

dude has an obvious agenda, cant get past his own personal feelings to be a fair mod. Immediately had two targets in his sights the second he became a moderator. LittleJoe and Pearland Sooner were counting the seconds until they were banned.
Been posting there for years, PNG had zero issues with them because they kept their cool and didn't overstep the lines. MM didnt even have a rule that they broke just kept threatening them everytime they posted.
Now, that we are gone he has turned his sights on to some of his own and your last few respectful posters (with you as exception) seem to have pulled back the curtain so to speak
You cant deny that BBR, Hookem, and swVAHorn are pretty respected long time posters over there. Their words should carry some weight when they take that kind of stand.

From what I've seen MM is a very good mod. Have you ever seen the guys he has to put up with over there? The man is a saint
I personally do not think MM has a agenda. It think he is running the asylum by himself. and This happens every single off season and it always happens in political threads. Now should OT threads be stopped, no, not at all, they are modded by many people on the main board and that is successful. It think what makes ss more successful is you have a couple guys helping out. I have posted a little bit the last few weeks, but after the recruits signed I decided to take some time off and I have a bunch of stuff going at work that is more important to me right now . From what I have seen there has been quite the squabble over there and honestly I threw my " its a free board" cents in but other than that I just don't care. I do realize that over at OB I have a little more leniency since I am a horn fan to get away with some comments but as a visitor here I try my best to be respectful. I would like to see a few of you unbanned because there were some constructive comments and fun threads there but who knows what would happen if they did that, hell, everything just seems to get derailed there by , well...everybody.

Thats true. They should be thanking him for allowing to say pretty much whatever they want. I guess even MM has his breaking point.

it matters because you asked if I have seen what MM has to deal with over there. well, the answer is yes. I realize you have gotten into pissing matches with some of the longer posters on occasion here, but I assure you, in this instance, longevity is relevant.

Yep, people are starting to see him, for what he is. He goes all Barney Fife, on anyone, not in his get a long gang. He even has a few OU fans, in that click. BBR spoke the absolute truth, about that clown. He is the epitome of a hypocrite, and his actions are very transparent.

Well I think I've seen enough to make an educated judgment. There are a few over there that are just flat out crazy and I can't imagine having to deal with their issues. IMO, MM has given them a lot of rope to say basically whatever they want for a long time now. I guess he is getting tired of it and a few are crying like the babies they are
overall MM is a pretty good mod. No mod is perfect plus you gotta remember some of the fools he has to deal with day in and day out on OB. Its gotta be like being a pre-k teacher at times. Heck I think he banned one guy over there for threatening to meet up and fight people in real life
Plus lets not forget scholz is pretty special.

Well, that's the whole point, isn't it? He hasn't dealt with the fools over there. He hasn't enforced the rules evenly. He allows certain posters absolute freedom to violate every rule imaginable (well, until it comes to politics, evidently), then swings his mighty ban hammer when anyone dares to post in like manner. Whatever mess he's involved with is of his own making.
I agree to a point littlejoe, however you have witnessed the posting on OB. Most of them are vulgar, cuss, threaten, name calling, etc. on a regular basis. I like the fact that MM lets a lot of stuff go, but i agree there has to be a point where you say enough is enough. As a mod thats up to him to decide when someone has crossed the line. I think overall he does a good job, but he is never gonna make everyone happy. Can you imagine dealing with scholz every day? or dabomb? I doubt you could do it and neither could I lol. I ever noticed a couple of dudes over there wanting to meet up and fight people. Can you imagine that over words on a screen. wow! I guess the point is there is just a lot of immaturity and I doubt that changes.
Not to mention the few that actually get so mad they want to meet you in person. Most on there are actually pretty good guys but a few are flat out nuts and those are the ones that seem to stick out.
