Dudes name is John Leguizamo folks, thought everyone knew this.

Um, yeah.

I'm referring to the character Leguizamo plays, Ozzy Delveccio, who is borderline cartoonish, and way too much like Matt Dillon's character in There's Something About Mary.

The sheriff looked so familiar to me...tried to figure out what I had watched him in before...turns out he was "Morales" from OZ. Loved the ending to season 2......and I know who will get blamed for what happened......last name is O'Bannon.....POS anyway

Lenny Potts kinda just disappeared, which I thought was weird. He suggested leaving, then said he'd stay...then, was never seen again.

Doubt we've seen the last of him either.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of season 1. What episode does it really start getting crazy ? Great set up so far, trying to figure where it is going.

Definitely a slow-burn & character-driven series, but it's so well done. You'll love it.

Really into it. Only mistake was starting to watch it at 10:45 last night. After dozing off a few times, finished the first 2 and it was after midnight. Probably should have waited and got a earlier start on another day, but NBA starts tonight and knew it would be out tonight. The plan is to finish season 1 Friday night.

So did the black sheep brother drown the girl and kill his father ? It sure seems that way. If you can tell me without giving anything in future episodes away. It is just what the first 2 episodes have me believing.

I'm not sure the producers realized that Ben Mendelsohn was going to outshine Kyle Chandler, Sissy Spacek, Sam Shepard etc. so soundly in Season 1. Danny is literally the rug that ties that Rayburn room together. Although his ghost still haunts them through the cassette tape, Wayne Lowry and his son Nolan etc. we are missing Danny badly.

That, and the fact that Season 2 continues with the "slow burn" style (at least until the final couple episodes) is probably making it hard for the non "die-hard" fans. For me, I'm in it for the long haul and hoping there is an actual long haul.

I can't get enough of that setting - every time I watch the show I want to go down to the Keys.

Only catsfagbgky would ask for the conclusions after watching 2 episodes. Wtf is the point of watching a show?

[eyeroll]

Watch the show, and stop posting.
No kidding. Just watch the show.

Him and Cujo need to start a separate thread.

Well, the writers stated during Season 1 that they had written/sold a 5-6 season story to Netflix, and that Season 1 was basically a prelude to the real starting point, which is Season 2.

Hopefully we get to see the entire vision.

Anyone watched 'Damages', their other series? Gets high marks, and pops up on basically every "Best of Netflix" list in the Drama category.

Damages was a winner as well. They were reaching a little towards the end, but worth a watch. Each season was loosely based on a major real-life event/trial, so it was easy for the show to keep your attention throughout.

Two things that impressed me in season 2:

Kyle Chandler in the scene when he realizes his wife has figured everything out. That scene is superbly acted - the look Chandler puts on John Rayburn's face - without saying a word - is about as real as a show can get.

Kevin's conversation with Belle when he nearly spills everything. Dude almost looks right into the damn camera. Also a superb performance.

The most fundamental question that I can't get over is ---

why in the hell wouldn't they have taken Danny's body FAR, Far, far offshore and dumped it 2 miles deep in the ocean, in a lead casket, where it would never be found? There's no better spot to do that than in the Keys, where they live, and they have unlimited access to boats.

No body, no crime. It seems strangely stupid for them to hold on to it that long and then for an experienced cop like John to ultimately hatch a plan that's going to leave Danny's remains in a spot where they're sure to be found.

Again, it's not a show without all of the intrigue, but is there really a rational explanation for this?

This entire show is like a Chinese knot. Pull one end and the whole thing just gets tighter and tighter.

Have to say, I sure did not expect that character to meet his end at the end of Season 2. Crazy twist

Explanation was that John tried to set it up and look like it was the same set up that they used on the illegals coming in to tie it back to Lowry.

With the Feds wanting anything to trap Lowry it almost worked until Kevin ruined it with his great idea.

Getting rid of Danny's body and nailing Lowry would've been killing two birds with one stone.

Just finished both seasons. Knocked them out in about 3 weeks. Unbelievable acting across the board and it kept me engaged the entire time. Season 2 slowed down a bit but the last few episodes made up for it.

There were essentially 4 cliffhangers in that finale. Where the hell is John going? What the hell is Kevin going to do? Luis took Ozzy away at gunpoint, and Meg is about to drop the bomb on Sally.

Hopeful for a solid season 3.

Finished last night. Damn can't wait until season 3. John has to kill Eric right ??
Eric's sorry *** will be blamed for the murder that occurred at the end. He was the last person to contact ole boy when he called him on his cell....hate that sob anyway

My guess. old man Rayburn killed some people for the millionaire drug guy and buried them under bungalow 3. that's why they wont fix it.

May be onto something. I thought maybe it was a hint that she was losing her mind, or something similar. But this explanation would actually fit the show better.

So just to be clear, the Luis that's working for Gilbert is the same guy that Lowry reported to right? (Which I guess is how Gilbert got the tape)

I'd like to see a cigarette smoking competition between Danny Rayburn and Rust Cohle from True Detective.

I do think something is going on with Sally and the plumbing issue. She's either losing it or hiding something, probably losing it.

You know anytime Kevin has a chance to screw up, he will.

I keep finding myself rooting for them to get away with it. The show does a great job of building suspense or anxiety that it's all about to fall apart for the Rayburn clan.

Always appreciate when a show or movie hires an actor to play a son/daughter who actually looks like his parents. Danny's son is a helluvan actor and looks like his dad.

Terrific acting across the board. I just love Kyle Chandler.

Yeah, little Danny was perfectly executed, all the way down to his general mannerisms. The casting for the show all around is just awesome.

Absolutely that is what I am thinking too. I would love to know the real story behind the Rayburns and Mr. Gilbert. Kind of sounds like he owns them in some capacity.

It really is a good match, although it's a little weird that the same actor plays Nolan and also plays young Danny in flashbacks.

Clicked back on this thread when I noticed a new post. Was hoping that was the reason. Yes !!!
