Yup.

It is such a disaster that a guy like myself, who will certainly have to work that morning and then come home and take care of children will be able to watch the game on tv.

Prob should start emailing SEC Network to not show it

the noon time is to accomodate SEC Network/ESPN, which is broadcasting all 14 conference spring games

by comparison, the ACC is only going to have 6 out of 14 spring games covered - and by internet only ESPN3. UL not among the schools selected.

Please tell me how many people that have sec net are going to watch UK FOOTBALL in the south outside of KENTUCKY on at 12 o'clock time slot...if MB had the option I wish he would have declined to have it in a slot more beneficial to having fans in the seats and making a big event out of it like the first two years...35&50k, catwalk and tailgating to show the recruits that they will surely have there

plenty. maybe you have heard that college football is popular, and achieves high ratings when televised? And that no live college football has been broadcast since early January?

you answered your own question, UK likely hasn't much option on when the Blue/White game is held other than picking the day. the price we pay for receiving tens of millions in TV money.

don't see why those things can't happen for a 12 noon game. no major statewide conflicts that date, no Keeneland, no Churchill Downs, no Thunder over Louisville, no Easter weekend. Just cross your fingers with Kentucky April weather, 'bout all you can do.

I sure did. He is a pretty good wildlife cook, cooks some of the best fish I ever eat. Other than the tenderloins, all the deer we get gets ground up and he makes deer jerky year round. Between the 2 of us and my son we got 8 this past season. So plenty of jerky.

Look at my picture and you can see what this geezer hunts...have to go back to my far west Ky roots to hunt them. I let the young guys get me a doe these days, too much time and work for me, but I surprisingly don't care for the wild turkey they've given me.

I wish my eyes were better so I could tell what those are. There is a hunting club a little ways down the road from us with several guys in the 20's and 30's. So when we down one that requires some dragging we get some help from them. It isn't too hard to get them either, they camping in tents with no power. We are in a cabin with a full bath, and Dish TV and heat, or air if its needed. So at least 1 or 2 are more than willing to help drag a little while to watch ballgames that night. Really they are friends from home, we get a bunch of chicken and put them in smoker on Sat around 11 and have a good time deer or no deer dragging.

Enjoyed reading that and yes, we older types deserve some hunting comfort after mostly roughing it out in the field for years and years. Those are mallard ducks in the picture, after mostly wading swamps and hiding behind trees or backwater boat hunting since the 50's, we now have a very comfortable blind and a long, well built walkway through buckbrush to get out there...love to eathem and give to friends.

Never been duck hunting, my brother has a small lake at his house, or large pond, and seveal breeds of duck use it, some of his work buddies come up and do a little hunting around it. I haven't tried duck, just never been around when some was being cooked because I will give anything a try, rabbit may be my favorite game meat, wild hog is pretty good if its not a big boar. But they will absolutely ruin your property, so when they move in we have hog killings. If we get more than we want to fool with we give them to a couple of families near the cabin. Poorest county in the state of Georgia.

Get out there with your 12 gauge, Grump, excellent dark meat, you only live once. My brother and I are outdated, actually take time to pick & dress the ducks (mallards and wood ducks our favorites) and bake two together plain in a covered roasting pan or large casserole bowl at a very low temperature (275) about 2 1/2 hours, great with wild rice, corn dish, etc, and makes a fine gravy...slice the meat from bones and remove all skin. My Yankee wife has learned to love duck and deer. Most hunters today quickly remove the duck's breast on both sides and grill, but you don't get near the amount of meat or moisture of the skin and bone of a whole duck...lots of spiced up recipes you can google.

Grump, temperature should be 325 degrees, not 275, sorry!

Sounds simple enough to cook, I like rice and gravy. Sounds like a plan, thx for the info.
Steps
Get a garbage bag and start picking feathers, don't have to be gentle, just get as many big feathers as possible, leave most small pin feathers, you're going to take the skin off after cooking anyway.
Need a sharp serrated knife, rubber gloves or nitrile throwaways. When transporting, leave one wing and the head until you get home in case game wardens stop you and put in bag separate from picked feathers. Break off feet with fingers, then easily remove them with knife. Break wings at their joints near body (I use a hammer), then cut them off near to the body as possible without damaging flesh. Cut off the neck down to the body. Now for the messy final part: at lower part of body where bone ends, cut gently across the skin on breast of duck an inch or two. Snip off anus at bottom, reach into the cavity and start pulling out innards to throw away. Wash out thoroughly, cook them or put in refrigerator in a pan for eating in a day or so. You can also freeze them (in about 1/3 freezer bag of water if waiting long term-6 months to 2 years, still great).

Thx, I have plenty of experience dressing birds, grew up on a chicken farm with 25k chickens, fried chicken with mashed potatoes, cole slaw and green beans/blackeyed peas were a regular supper at my house. My first experience eating out was my first date. lol, talk about feeling out of place.

Great, I always warn guests to slow down, pull off the skin unless they like feathers and chew slowly in case of shot!
