Gran is playing the hand he has been dealt. Based on what I saw yesterday, Drew Barker still has a long way to go before he can win SEC games. Drew has made some progress this spring, but I'm not convinced he is head and shoulders above Johnson. To be brutally honest, the best thing Gran can do is find an offensive line coach who knows how to teach fundamentals and develop his players. I am not worried about the running backs or the tight ends. They are solid. I trust that Coach Thomas will clean up the receivers. But if we don't get better blocking from our tackles, our offense will not move the chains. We have several 4 star tackles on our roster, but a walk on is our best tackle. That's a tribute to Mosier's work habits, but it's also a cautionary statement about positional coaching and player development.

We have 1 4 star tackle on campus. Barker was making very good throws not real sure what your basing your opinion on. The 3 strikes he had where absolutely big time throws. He had the 1 pick that was ugly but he read back shoulder and Greenwood had step that is just reps and timing. Barker will be really good this year.

Or perhaps says the others aren't working as hard.
For a long time I've had a theory about highly rated players with offers to other "football schools" that come to UK. Too many come because they want to play but don't want to work. They figure they can play on talent alone. It's why I think we see so many 4 star kids flame out (relative to how many we sign).

Wrong. Leavitt and Meadows were 4 stars. Although he is moving inside now, GAA was also a 4 star.
According to Rivals only Leavitt was a 4 star. Meadows and GAA were 5.7 3 stars. And GAA is a natural Guard. He doesn't have the arm length or foot speed to play OT. But I agree that Schlarman should've been replaced as his lines have been horrible and Mosier will get killed again this year by speed rushers. He is way too slow to play LT in the SEC.
