Maybe we can have other polls: How old do you act? How old do you feel? etc.
The opening lines of The Tower, Yeats, written when he was sixty. His body couldn't keep up with his mind. Ben Bulben is a mountain in Sligo, where he grew up.

What shall I do with this absurdity —
O heart, O troubled heart — this caricature,
Decrepit age that has been tied to me
As to a dog's tail?
Never had I more
Excited, passionate, fantastical
Imagination, nor an ear and eye
That more expected the impossible —
No, not in boyhood when with rod and fly,
Or the humbler worm, I climbed Ben Bulben's back
And had the livelong summer day to spend.

Yeats. I tried to pick a poem or stanza to respond and gave up on it. So much greatness.

Don’t get me started. The first line of the poem this stanza comes from is, of course, “That is no country for old men.”

An aged man is but a paltry thing,
A tattered coat upon a stick, unless
Soul clap its hands and sing, and louder sing
For every tatter in its mortal dress…

When I was 17, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for small town girls
And soft summer nights
We'd hide from the lights
On the village green
When I was 17
When I was 21, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for city girls
Who lived up the stairs
With all that perfumed hair
And it came undone
When I was 21
When I was 35, it was a very good year
It was a very good year for blue-blooded girls
Of independent means
We'd ride in limousines
Their chauffeurs would drive
When I was 35
But now the days are short, I'm in the autumn of my years
And now I think of my life as vintage wine
From fine old kegs
From the brim to the dregs
It poured sweet and clear
It was a very good year

Some of you are really old. How many have their original hips and knees?

The young ones on here need to realize some of us dinosaurs were early adopters like 27 years ago, when we were in our early 30’s.

This board is so old, folks here think "rapscallion" is edgy urban slang, only uttered by hep cats, ne'er-do-wells and rabble-rousers.
This board is so old......

... The Flintstones was considered a documentary.....
....they agreed with IBM that personal computers would never sell....so they never bought stock in Microsoft or Apple....
....."Microsoft" had a whole different meaning for men....
...."Apple" was a fruit....and "fruit" was not an insulting term....
... the Pet Rock was the Christmas gift you wanted the most....
...

How many took a computer programming class at PSU and went to the computer center to write programs by punching holes in cards? Then getting your results on tractor fed greenbar paper?

There’s a lot of experience on this board, smart people, level heads. Pretty much, we know how to talk with each other. I dig that. For 25 years this has been my only social media outlet.
