So sick of the Greg's players narrative.
Greg has made many more boneheaded mistakes.
Six years in and a losing record and not one ranked win. Talk about apologists!!!

Greg is a flawed HC, but he also made RU FB into a fairly good program ( twice) after taking over a downtrodden program that was considered a loser.
Flood inherited a good program and his 9-4 first season gave hope, but he wasn't ip to the job enough to have constant winning seasons and left because he embarrassed the program more then his 3-6 record when he got the boot.
As for Schiano, (2) another poster said he is only good enough for 7 or 8 win seasons and I agree with that.
Greg 1 I feel could bring in between 7-9 seasons onb a constant bases.
Kyle was a yo-yo , win one year lose the next .
I feel that Flood could win with the right assistants controlling the game.
Schiano wins less than he should because he makes the decisions on the game-day strategy .
Both Greg and Kyle are not the best of the best, but for RU they are the ones that RU fans defend or condemm,
because since Bateman & Burns Rutgers hasn;t pulled in a HC that can solidify the fanbase by meeting the expectations RU fans felt the program should reach 20 years ago..
Greg gave the RU Fanbase a program they could be proud of, but he never proved he was able to make Rutgers into the type of program RU fans could brag about after the 2006 season.
So I'll say: Schiano was the one that gave Rutgers fans the idea the program would be great, but he never produced
that type of program after 2006 and in reality I'd say he proved he couldn't make RU great before the 2006 season ended.
Flood was a hire many didn't want and by the time he left he proved them right in objecting to his hire.
Greg 2 also had detractors and though he made RU far better than when he took over, he hasn't done enough to stay ,and like Flood, Schiano doesn't deserve the support he's receiving from some because he has had enought time to build a good program and failed to do so.
We can find excuse after excuse, but the bottom line is W-L and G2 has not proved he can win enough games to have Rutgers considered a good program or good enough ttp play in major bowls , and a far cry from being considered even close to a playoff contender .
Why the fusing and fighting over Greg, he is the best of a bad bunch of hires after the D-1AA Batman and Burns teams and they never were considered top programs even in D-1AA except for a couple of years Dr John and then Burnsie ran the program before RU went D-1A
This board has had more things to complain about than brag over and that type of interaction tends to keep traffic going at a slow pace.
People just get tired of responding to complaints , along with reading more bad news than happy thoughts
