The over the top negative garbage has largely been from psu trolls and known Iowa haters (Askren and Co.).

Until this year, and particularly until this last PSU meet, the worst in memory. If the Hawks perform as badly at Nationals as it appears they will, the Hawk fans will scream for BIG changes, and the AD will have to consider them if TnT intend to "stay the course." We're reaching that critical mass of total crapitude.

How can you really go backwards? I truly believe ANY coach could achieve the same results that Iowa has been posting. Iowa has enough of a name to still be competetive regardless of who is manning the helm. The tradition itself was enough to get good enough kids to make a top 5 team. Thats starting to slip for sure. Remember, wrestling is a niche sport. Most of these kids wrestle because their dad did. The generation of dads who grew up idolizing the Iowa program are dwindling. That was a bump that Iowa received, and one they aren't getting as much now. Point being, I think any coach could have had similar success in that environment, and with those resources.

Yes, it is more than okay to take a small step backward in promise of leaps forward... even as Ok St never did, and Iowa's cachet is much more recent.
