Bob turns 60 today.

KInda blows me away. There is a kid I coached in youth baseball in 1974 who is a facebook friend, whose birthday is also today. He's three year younger than Sooner former head coach Bob Stoops. That blows me away even more.

Did you see the trivia question last weekend asking who was the last college football coach to win a national championship in his 30's? Bob was 38 in January 2001.

Yeah, I'm 69, so I understand just how fast. My kids are 37, 34 and 21. Friends always tell you how fast it goes, then you find out how right they are.

I attended OU during the Blake years. Had a rental house adjacent to Sarkeys lined up before he started. Then, we crapped the bed with him at the helm and couldn’t sell a parking spot in my lawn to anyone for a $. I stayed to get a masters and met my first wife who was in a sorority and gave her my season tickets to the Nebraska game in 2000 under Stoops, so she could camp out in line with her sorority and look like she was the biggest Sooner fan along with them.
