Watching it right now. It's at the point of his accident. Oh how that sucked. He should have had the chance to become great or just an average NBA player. I love Bobby Hurley. Friends please wear your seat belts and drive with your head lights on. He lived because he is Bobby Hurley. he's a fighter. He's a warrior. He's a winner . He would never leave a comrade or team mate behind. He's going to be a great coach. So you all of you Hurley haters out there go ahead and hate but you would love to have him in your corner.

ESPN really sucks. As much as they say that they cater to Duke, they sure like to have people who hate Duke work for them. I guess I just assumed that the show was supposed to honor Bobby Hurley not have Jalen Rose go on about how he was a whiner and a poor sport. Overall I liked the show, but they really just reused interviews that they used in the Laettner 30 for 30 and the 91 and 92 tribute show. But it was pretty cool to see Bobby as a coach inside of the locker room. I hope he makes it because I love his fire.

Jalen Rose's entire post-playing career brand is "Duke hater." We made him what little he is today. Stick that in your bong and smoke it, Jalen. Oh wait, I forgot, you prefer the sauce.

How long can someone stay bitter? He should practice being thankful for the good things in his life instead of whining about not being recruited by Krzyzewski and trashing the people who did.

Jalen was a great player, but he's always been a misguided man. His anger stems from a perceived lack of opportunity. Guess what Jalen? Life isn't fair, and the biggest reason you had it rough was your dad. Stop being angry at the world and set a better example by being the best man you can be. Calling out guys like Grant Hill just makes you look like a child.

/End rant

Allow me to play devil's advocate.
I believe Jalen often goes over the top when ranting about Duke due to his employer being ESPN. ESPN wants as many clicks, listens, or viewers as possible, and this is easily done by having one of their loudest basketball analyst's ranting about hating Duke.

I am in no way defending Jalen, I listened to his Jalen & Jacoby podcast daily for about 6 months, but then decided to stop, due to the fact that he repeats the same stories and sayings over and over and over.

Also, wouldn't you be bitter about the squad that blew you out in the National Championship???
Him calling out Grant Hill in the Fab Five documentary was uncalled for, but also that has been the #1 selling documentary ESPN has ever produced. So, in a way, most of America enjoys him hating on Duke, just not us.

I agree, he is likely just playing a part. I don't know the guy personally, so he may do many good things in the world that ESPN doesn't cover. His inner turmoil is at least a little real though.

I think he's just jealous that the best talent on his team was Webber and he was also the only one Duke really rexruited

Sounds like Rose is whining some himself. How many nc's did the fab five knock down? OFC

Rose certainly enjoys running his anti-Duke rhetoric but has not once mentioned his class was 0-4 vs Duke.

Eat it Jalen!

Rose is so full of Duke hatred he should have gone to UNC, but he probably hates them also.

Great story. It hits close to home for me (grew up in that area of jersey during that time and almost went to St Anthony) I have no issue with the Rose segment it's part of the overall picture.

Maybe if we're talking about the team. But his snide remarks had no place when talking about Bobby Hurley. I would get it maybe if he followed it up with a "but he was a great player" or something like that. It's just ESPN for you.

Bobby Hurley will always be my favorite Blue Devil of all time. I hope he has great success at ASU and that he has the opportunity to lead a real powerhouse one day.

Not gonna lie, but I hope Hurley finds himself coaching at Duke one day. I've got nothing negative to say about Capel and realize everything he brings to the table. That said, it wouldn't hurt to have a guy who learned the game from two legends leading our team years from now.

As for Jalen Rose and the Fab 5, I think Bob Knight summed them up best: "Michigan was the most overrated team in the history of basketball. Never had so little been gotten out of so much.''

In the Fab Five's defense....they did play in two Final Four's and two national championship games. Oh yeah, they were only together for two years. I don't like them, either....but they were pretty damn good.

And Rose? I'm sick of him. He's the reason there's a mute button on my remote.
