This sucks, I wanted Bobby Petrino as OC. I even made Message Board Geniuses for it. Can’t believe Stoops let my guy get away. Helluva X’s & O’s guy. We need someone to scheme right there with Fat Huepel.

That could actually be a very good place for him with all that talent, he can't mess with the defense and his awful recruiting is overlooked by bags of Texas money to recruit.

Jimbo controls the offense always has. BP will not handle being overridden very well. Get the popcorn ready, hide your motorcycle and daughters. The BP shat show is coming to town.

I can't believe that my Thanksgiving phone call was completely and totally wrong. 😡

Kiffin and Saban made it work a couple of years. These odd couples attract alot of attention.

Wouldn't surprise me if Jimbo just handed over the duties and just sat in the locker room counting his money and waiting for a mic to show up in his face.

Everyone may hate him as a person, even as a coach, but as a coordinator it would be a great get for A&M.
Given his repetitive problems with personal behavior and brazen disloyalty, this would be exactly the kind of unnecessary risk Jimbo Fisher cannot afford to take right now. Jimbo is looking more and more like the Humpty Dumpty of 2023. Petrino is not a recruiter. Fisher needs stability, positivity, and an appearance of solid leadership. I don't know what he will do, but this seems like a bad idea.

The only thing saving Jimbo's job is wins, and it looks like he's willing to make a deal with the devil in order to do so.

Personal issues aside, and honestly - and sadly - they're of little consequence here, if Bobby helps Jimbo win more football games then it was a solid choice and worth the gamble. Sadly, winning culture trumps all else and the only thing likely on Jimbo's mind right now is how to win more football games, which is probably the only thing he must do better to keep his job.

If Bobby P can help him do that then Jimbo wins, both figuratively and literally, and I'm sure he thinks he can control whatever negatives come attached to that bargain.

Hahahahhaa wow. I mean he can coach an offense - or at least could 7 years ago - but I don’t see him swallowing that ego for too long. Makes sense for jimbo. Either crash and burn to force your firing, or have a high powered offense that makes people wanna keep you. Win/win on his end.

This is a coach looking to draw that golden parachute.

I don't see any risk for Jimbo. If it works Jimbo has saved his career, if it doesn't he walks away with 75m dollars. But it will be hard to find another coaching staff with less character than the one ATM is putting together.

Jimbo - Over rated coach or a negative
Petrino - Cancer to a program or a negative

Let’s just hope a negative + a negative = a negative

I'll never forget the Arkansas bus.. parked right out front commonwealth after he quit the Falcons mid year(I'm a fan on Atlanta Falcons and Kentucky ... it's tough) no players ..no cops near.. walked right on that bus pointed at him in the front seat

Said Falcons are 4 and 0 and you suck! State trooper summoned..escorted me off then gave me a fist bump 🤣

Color me skeptical, but that sounds like a problem. Hiring, recruiting, locker room, and fan support all involve credibility and reputation. Petrino has been the ultimate mercenary who always soils everything sooner or later. Petrino would be glad to undermine Jimbo and submit his own application. Sounds to me like Jimbo knows he is in big trouble and is acting recklessly in desperation. You may think Jimbo would be happy to take the $75 million and go home. But that would be a huge humiliation, and Jimbo is really full of himself. Coaches want to coach. I can't see Jimbo as an ESPN studio analyst.

And he would be a character builder for the volleyball team.

Petrino could always use the defense of "I didn't understand what you were saying" when Fisher tried to overrule a playcall over the headset. I mean, can anybody understand what Fisher is saying?

I can't see him as an analysis either, but he is no more a narcissist than Urban and the networks can't wait to put him in front of a camera.
