125 PETERSON 6 vs UR He wrestled a just OK match. I really do not to this day, get what his "style" is or his match strategy is? Takes him a while to get going where it appears he should be hitting his moves more and scoring!!!! On bottom, kind of the same here, work to your feet and like stop there and wait to get mat returned??? He opened up a lil late in third but TWOOOO late to get a major 76

133 AYALA 8 vs UR Good solid work by DAKE getting TECH 100 Give PURDUE some credit here and in the entire match as their men were there mostly to scrap!!!!

141 PERTERSEN This was an entertaining match!!!! NICE work by both Wrestlers. IOWA hit a slick duck that was countered with an equally nice grandby where no points were scored. There was a good scramble off of Purdue shot which they eventually scored on. IOWA kept working for the win!!! give him the 8-3

149 BLOCK 19 vs 31 zeros in 1st didn't make IRON happy IOWA top and he puts a TUFF ride on for the period!!!IOWA down and they put a TUFF ride on and cut after erasing RT. There were some close calls in the match but BLOCK finally got going late THREEEE for the win 73

157 VV3 UR vs 28 surprise to not see Williams??? zeros again in first but IRON shows good control and does not start breaking shEEEET again!!! IOWA down and he works off bottom then right to NICE double for TD rides kid out. Used his TUFF Leg ride in third to secure quality win 90

NOT sure why he did not work it some more???IOWA down out quick Hit another nice TD with a SHUCK/DRAG type move and it was GR8 seeing some TECHNIQUES!!!. He then goes to a GABLE Bar to a COW CATCHER for the FALL!!!! 100

I would say MOST athletes, and certainly Wrestlers do this. Very hard to overcome and or teach how to "stay loose" in B1G spots!!! As a coach/wrestler, you can many times see kids who wrestle much better "in the room" then under the lights and it is rare to have the opposite!!!

Some of it has to do with the other guy just being GR8 also and can shut some stuff down but yea, I think he started to back off the gas some after the first wild scramble. It also APPEARED to me that he may have gotten a lil more tired then usual. This may have had something to do with being in a B1G match and getting over AMPed before the match? His TANK is mostly real good and I don't ever seem him getting gas except against the ON THE SHEET MessOShmittiodet over at F**** st.!!!!

I have some unfortunate news for you on where Joey Blaze would like to wrestle next season.

Poor scouting. Blaze very strong; once he gets a leg he's likely to score, or at minimum chew up 30-45 seconds of clock. Caliendo needed to (needs to) stay on offense and keep Blaze off the legs.

FWIW I think Blaze beat Mikey in freestyle this summer too. Could be why he didn’t feel comfortable attacking as much as usual because he has felt it before and didn’t like it. I also thought he looked gassed after that long scramble in the 2nd when he was trying to escape.

I think Caliendo was plenty aggressive. Blaze is extremely difficult to get to. Caliendo was in deep early and that turned into (what should have been) a takedown for Blaze off a reshot. Felt like the majority of that match was a scramble.

Blaze is legit. People underrate him because he's from Purdue and doesn't score a ton, but he's for real and getting better too. I think he's the only one with any chance to beat Mesenbrink this year (extremely low).

Its the scrambling ability that keeps Mikey at bay. Solid defense from solid wrestlers is a factor.

Mikey got out wrestled in this match, the scramble was long and good but blaze was in better position almost the whole sequence. Blaze also rode Mikey like a bull. Blaze really impressed me that match I wouldn't of put money on that match but my money would be on Blaze next meeting.

Iowa needs to learn how to scramble reawy reawy bad.

WHAT does that mean??? IOWA has had MANY more INTERNATIONAL medals with MUCH less TOP tier talent PERIOD!!!!! Also IOWA has right now, much better INTERNATIONAL wrestlers as F*** st may not have any they are so pathetic????? My guess is, IF they even try to make a World or Olympic team????
