Just wanted to pass along

One of the families I'm working with is from DeSoto, TX and they know the Bolden family.

I was told Marques' family are so proud of the way he is gearing up for the upcoming basketball season. None of them can believe how he has transformed his body to look and be strong as well as his focus on conditioning. I asked if this all in prep not only for the Duke season but a chance to be a potential NBAer. The response was "we shall see".

I have not see. Any recent pictures of Bolden to validate what was said but it's good to hear his family is proud.

They better be very nice to their boy, because he'll be the bread winner next year.

He has impressed big time. I've always felt his motors wasn't the best, but he's proving me waaaaaay wrong. The kid is turning heads.

And at the pro day, I wouldn't be surprised if he's mentioned as one of the best surprises and one of the top two targets of scouts.

Spot on. My reservation at first was I didn't think he would "buy in" to the way this program is run. That he was just here to play some minutes his freshman year and get in the draft based off of talent.

Something clicked. The man has put in WORK. People are going to be talking about him after CTC.

I think sometimes something clicks when you go from being the best on the team to one of the pieces.

He does look ripped and ready. In fact he looks spry and ready to play above the rim. Don't think he's gonna be pushed around. He may be able to bang around a little too. OFC

I think Marques really checked his ego at the door. And I don't mean that to sound like a bad thing or that he had some massive ego....because his teammates are having to do it too. This team has an abundance of talent. If you're in it for yourself then you're at the wrong place and can be detrimental to the goals laid out.

I want to see him getting down court. He's always been a bit slow in that category. It's his only drawback for me. Once he's in position, he's great. If he improves that foot speed, he'll be a monster.

This was my number one concern during the recruiting process. If that has happened and it sounds like it has, than we are going to be even better than anticipated and I'd expect him to start the season with Amile.

If Bolden turns out significantly better than an improved Jeter, than this team is going to be scary good. What's the work on Frank lately?

^ I know Matt Jones and Grayson Allen were very complementary of Frank in Scheyer's most recent podcast. They used words like "freak" to describe his athleticism and explosiveness. Jones said something like "He shouldn't be able to jump that high."

I think Jeter will surprise this year.

Jackson is doing great from what I hear. Needs polishing up on the PG position, but that might also keep him at Duke for another year. (fingers crossed) However, he is very talented and has it in areas you can't teach. (athleticism, ect...)

I think a lot of things going on at practice right now are very telling when you look at how future recruiting is shaping up. I am VERY excited for this season AND next.

I will add to this to halt the naysayers, the team has not put in a single set yet. I think it'll be very telling in October when they start running sets if Frank is handling the ball or if Matt or Grayson or even Luke (a la Scheyer) is doing it.

That doesn't mean by season's end he won't be at the position or won't be capable, but it does mean his timetable is moving back in terms of being "on the ball".

I'm not even thinking about next year. For me it's this year that we've all been looking forward too. We knew last year's team didn't have what it took to cut down the nets, especially when Amile got hurt. I was looking forward to this season as soon as we cut down the nets in '15. Because I knew we had a chance to do something special yet again. It's all in for this team.

With last season being a weak year in college basketball, I wouldn't discount what DUke could of done with Amile being healthy. IMO, DUke could of made it to the final 4.

Denn, I think Jeter will surprise this year too. That was kind of my point. If Bolden ahead of Chase to get the majority of those minutes available, look out. Either way, Duke is going to have a better 5 than other fan bases realize (even if it winds up being Amile). And, a good 5 on this team should make this team almost impossible to handle most games.

Crazy I think I remember reading that Bolden was an 80% FT shooter in high school. What an added bonus! Not having to take defensive rebounders and bigs who can score out at the end of close games due to foul shooting concerns is a huge plus.

Amile should never have to play the 5 but it points to the flexibility of this team is incredible and in a pinch he can absolutely play there.

Wouldn't it be wonderful if Duke could shoot 80% as a team. OFC
