Yeah, persistently arguing whether Louisville belongs in the top 4 is hardly a subject that damages Louisville's reputation.

Kinda' like a delusional U of L fan who a few years ago, after we beat LSU in their National Title season, persistently argued that LSU was a "weak" national champion . . . . O.K., whatever.

Hey was just agreeing UL has had a lot of Pub....even this morning in football on Good morning America or some such place.

Thought this thread was about McFarland comments on ESPN...as far as GMA & WakeyLeaks...oh well....So far it appears Wake is starting to backoff...

The NCAA's greatest fear is LilBro being in the playoff. They are ratings poison. They have been in the lowest rated BCS bowl games in TV history. When your fanbase resides inside the Watterson Expressway....that is not good for pulling eyeballs to the TV and selling advertisements.

So yes...the NCAA will do everything it can to keep lilbro in 5th or worse.

Just Pub in general...UL has been active and in the mouths of many national media types.

As far as Boggers comments he is correct.

I hope Louisville does get in at that 4th spot.
I wanna see the Jonathan Allen & Tim Williams show at the expense of Lamar Jackson.

The resume doesn't match the others...but Pollack pressed him last night and he even admitted they passed the eye test...But hey...we are in legit conversation for the CFP....in August nobody was saying that and we have the likely Heisman Winner...to go with 2 other players up for National Awards in Hikitini-(Mackey Award) and Alexander-(Thorpe Award)

In Football been about the CFP And Lamar Jackson....
Well more about how you are not making the playoffs because of a weak schedule and how other teams ranked lower will jump you if the 4 current teams don't make it. Let's be honest, there is almost no discussion about L'ville actually being in the playoffs.

Your only hope is that a lot of the other teams lose in their next couple. Without serious help you don't get in. If you struggle against either Houston or UK it's going to be that much harder to convince any committee members you belong.

Just seems an awful lot like being on the bubble as the first team out of the NCAA tournament. No one wants to be in that spot and even though they do get mentioned a few times, it's not exactly the type of publicity one would want. At least I wouldn't, but UL will take whatever attention they can get, good or bad. That's why we call them lil' bro after all.

At this point it is what it is...again we are playing with House Money....didn't expect to be in this spot at the start of the season especially coming off a 8-5 season in 2015...thought we would go 9-3 and make a Russell Athletic Bowl or Gator Bowl. Now on course for a NYD Six Bowl...no complaints

Much like us, you've benefited from it being a down year in CFB. Nothing wrong with that when the opportunity presents itself, but lets call a spade a spade.

Always felt the leap forward was 2017....we are a year early.
what leap? You're still losing your conference to Clemson, you aren't getting in the playoff and aren't really being considered, contrary to what your fan base believes. A BCS bowl is a good thing, but you aren't getting one that actually matters for anything. It's simply a consolation prize for not being good enough to be a playoff team. This could even end up hurting recruiting more than it helps. Recruits will take notice that your lack of scheduling quality opponents hinders their ability to actually have a chance at earning a playoff birth. Especially when you're ranked top 5 but still the committee opts for teams ranked several spots lower.

Uh leap forward in 2017...not 2016...expected to finish 3rd in the Atlantic in 2016 behind FSU & Clemson....and actually our recruiting is going very well. Also, Clemson needs to finish out Saturday on the road.

2016 7-1 in the ACC...also, very possible the B1G Champion will not make the CFP either...Wisconsin or Penn State...the favorites to play in the B1G Title Game.

I hate UL as much as anyone but I feel like an idiot when I make fun of them when you see what they are playing for compared to us.

Nah, they were still being turds to us when they lost 4 in a row to us, so the only idiots are still the ul fans.

Its a sure thing one of the teams ahead of them will lose 1 more game, they play each other. Last weekend when 3 of the top 4 lost really changed the outlook for UofL. Now if Washington wins out and wins the PAC12, they likely jump Louisville, but if they don't there is a good chance Louisville makes it in over a 2 loss OU.

We need the following to happen.

1. Clemson loses Saturday and we win out.

2. Win out and have Washington lose to Washington State and have Michigan win out. Hocutt made it clear there was little difference between 2 through 6...that tell me they are currently valuing 1 loss teams over 2 loss teams.

But I'm more than prepared to go to the Orange Bowl and play a Top 10 B1G Team and much more concerned about winning tonight....one game at a time...everything else will take care of itself

I think you could read that as FSU just taking a step back. They aren't what they have been the last few years. And last I checked Clemson is still ahead of you because they beat you! B1G still gets 2 teams in the playoffs, if Clemson wins out there in and of course Bama is a lock. The Acc is only getting in 1team. You and Clemson have the same record with them having a better sos and the head to head win. In the event the B1G only gets 1 team in, Washington, OU or even possibly WVU will pass you.

Louisville is a case study for the value of a truly special, difference maker at QB.
Cards are a good team. Maybe a very good team. But Jackson absolutely elevates them. Replace him with an average or even "normal" above average QB and they are not remotely in the same conversation.

At the same time, UK continues to suffer from below average QB play. (as much as I admire what SJ has done, he is quite limited) I'm not saying UK's squad would make the CFB playoff with Jackson, but it would have won the East and be in line for a huge bowl.

You're enjoying the ride by trying to defend and justify your teams ranking and lack of a playoff spot on your rivals message board. You are either full of it and aren't enjoying it, or you really need to learn different ways of expressing your enjoyment.

I'm not so sure about that. The match up may not be what Bama is built for. They are built for power running games and drop back passers. A fast QB that can escape the pressure might cause their defense some issues. On the other hand I don't see UL stopping Bama's offense.

Jackson would probably have some good series, but overall I think Bama would contain him into more of a passer than a runner. His passing game has gotten really really good, but his running game is what makes him so unique. Without that dimension you all are easy to beat.

If you all don't win pretty easily I'll be shocked. Houston is one of those teams that didn't live up to their preseason expectations.

Houston is us 10 years ago...they are the hunter and they have talent....if Michigan can go down to Iowa...if Clemson can go down at home to Pitt...we can be had at Houston...just ask FSU in the Peach Bowl or current Top 10 Oklahoma this year

Well hell, anything can happen! I just said I would be shocked if it did. Would love to see it happen though. Anytime you guys lose at anything is a positive in my book.
