The entire secondary is awful. Every time we go man coverage they want to grab and hold the receiver. Dont even get started about the tackling, just plain awful. You would think the secondary would be better since that is the position Grinch coaches.

Bookie gave up on his man...He ran along behind him with an 'Oh, Well', Attitude about him...

#44 was by no means the ONLY one not getting the job done...That was a terrrrrrible defensive scheme...

We can't FINISH!!!

He is an example of a good high school football player that everyone thought would just keep it up in D1. In other words, a Rudy Ruettiger. He fooled everyone, but signed with us.

I'm sure he was great in HS. Still, why would you believe a 5'9'' kid was going be able to cover TEs in a D1 setting?

Even more unsettling is that he's been out there for two years, signaling the guys behind him are below his capabilities. Vexing.

Ryan Jones who was a safety, then moved to LB, would have been a better option at covering the TE. I dont understand why we have such a hard time playing man. We have some of the best WR in the country and you would thin going against them everyday would make you better, iron sharpens iron, but not the case with Grinch.

This has got to drive Grinch nuts. All those guys in practice, yet none have the size, speed, or ability to pass this guy?

I believe it’s too early to blame Grinch since he didn’t recruit these guys. Let’s see who he brings in and has time to coach. He’s done it before and successfully. I’m going to try really, really hard to practice patience....man, this may end up being more than I can bear.

Not sure why Jaden Davis regressed. He looked lost and whiffed on what should have been a solid open field tackle.

I wonder why D guys like Sylvie and Redmond appear to be mired on the bench. Yet Bookie plays on without any impacts. No speed defense no nothing.

Bookie may be the most over-hyped recruit ever at OU, given the fact he's played more than Metoyer, Dampeer, Calhoun or others.
Bomar at least gave OU a good redshirt freshman season before he squandered a promising career.

He just looked under sized and now looks bulked up. I really wish he would fulfill his upside. He stands around watching the play go on around him with very little interaction. Makes you wonder why we even have a nickel guy if he is the “best” there is on the depth chart.

Well I know Bookie is not as advertised but I don't know if I can really blame him for it. The effort is there but he just isn't as good as everyone thought he was out of high school. Seems like a pretty decent kid that has hung in there.
I wonder what he would be now had he come to OU in the 2019 class under Grinch, or if Grinch would have even recruited him, 5-stars and all.
Right now, he appears clueless and to be lacking composure....and with a sense of entitlement from his high school years.

How many 5/4 star high schoolers have we all seen that just couldn’t live up to D1 standards at elite, high profile programs? Bookie had offers from all the big programs (Alabama, Ohio State, Clemson, etc.) so we can’t be too critical of OU coaches recruiting him even though I have been. So shame on me; however, I do think OU missed on him for not considering his speed and size which were two of his ranking shortcomings. In our league those two attributes should be paramount, IMO. Other than that he is just one of those kids that didn’t work out..... at least, so far. But why is he playing instead of working to earn his spot? Surely he isn’t as good as we have at that position. Is he just an amazing practice player? I give him credit for one thing, he sure can chase the ball after getting burned and is normally close by after another player has tackled the ball carrier.

God I’ve forgotten about that tune.......among many, many others.

One of my many curses is that I hear a phrase or a subject, etc. and a song pops into my head. I don't try to think of one, it just happens.

Walking around in public these days, I'm surprised at how often "Dude Looks Like a Lady" comes to mind.

Not THE Dude. Just Dude. ;)
